Default ear tube

Hi,
i had 30x of hyperbaric therapy in 2007 with good pain relief. I have recently gone back for additional treatment due to possible spread of RSD. However, i had ear pain and needed to stop the treatment after the 3rd session. I went to see a ENT specialist and told him about my situation and he recommend ear tube so that i would tolerate the pressure. He said it is a procedure and does not cause pain.
Have anyone had ear tube put in after having RSD? Did it cause the spread of your RSD? Is this procedure painful? I believe my RSD has spread from hands to arms to face although i am not 100% certain about RSD in my face because i did not have symptom other than swelling and some burning pain. Therefore, i am not sure whether or not i should take on an additional risk.
Please share your thoughts and many thanks,
Numb

I had a tubes as a kid but it was for ear infections that were constant. I have ear pain and pressure now which has been for a year. This was a concern with hbot since it causes this at times. I was not told about a tube though that could help. Do you have ear pain with out the hbot? Can you ask your pain doctor who deals with rsd?

Default Hi Numb,

I'm glad the HBO worked for you. I am hearing more good about it anymore. It's too bad the insurance won't pay for it. Like a lot of other things though, not just yet.

I couldn't do the HBO due to ear problems either. I had an ear drum put in when I was 19 and it didn't heal right so I know I am not a good candidate for it.

My Grandson had tubes when he was a baby and they didn't do any surgery for them.

Good luck on whatever you do. It sounds like it will be worth it if it will let you do the HBO.
