Thumbs up Saw my PM today

Well, I saw my PM today. He is going to keep me on the Opana ER 20mg 2 x a day, and he is adding Opana IR 5mg for breakthru pain. He has taken me of Lyrica, Yea!!!!. I really didn't like it at all. My hands have started swelling up so much I can't close them. I'll be glad when it's out of my system. I really LOVE the Opana er. It has to be one of the best meds on the market. I was going to get the pain pump, but since on the Opana er, I don't think I need it anymore. Opana er really has given me my life back. My pain goes from a 1 to maybe a 5 in the evening, (that's why the breakthru meds). I'm so happy with it. Finally...

Mary

It's amazing how this meds works. I wish it would be as helpful to everyone as it is to me. I know when you first start it, you sleep quite a bit. I still take a nap during the day, but nothing like it was when I first started it. All I can say is that if anyones' dr. suggest trying this med, give it a try. If you think it is something for you, ask your dr. about it. The company is offering a credit card to go with this med. They will pay up to 25 dollars a month towards your copay. Gotta love it.

I've been reading the posts about Opana and it's all been very possitive. However this one post says differently. I guess overtime it loses its effectiveness like all pain meds.

I know all meds don't work for everyone. it sounds like this person had 3 good years. I know that now drs. are RX Opana ER. Opana has only been on the market for about 3 years now, so she must have gotten in on the ground floor. She needs to discuss this with her dr. and find out if he can increase her dose. I have discovered thru research that if you are taking Opana ER, and you need breakthru meds, that you should have Opana for it. THey don't recommend mixing Opana with other breaththru type. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Her dr. would know better then I as I am not a dr. All I know is that I have my life back, I can get on the floor with my cats and dogs and play, I sleep about 10 hrs a nite, I've planted a veggie garden. And to think that a couple of years ago, I was in bed or a wheelchair. I can now go grocery shopping and walk with a cart, and can carry in some of the lighter bags. It doesn't sound like much, but for me it's wonderful.

I am excited about Opana and very glad you've got this, what seems to be incredible relief. My wife has full body RSD and I've clipped these Opana posts for her to see. This really is good news!

Heart

I am so happy for you

I can back the positive effects of Opana ER, as it has truly changed my outlook on life..my pain isn't ruling my life anymore. The evenings are abit rough; however, once I take the the Opana ER (2nd 12 hr dose), I am good to go.

I am sleeping more..but, heck, I have missed so much sleep in the last year..I am do for some beauty rest. I would love to get off Neurontin 2400 mg. daily..the swelling is not comfy at all. I see my PM on the 26th, and he plans to up my Opana to 20 mg. daily x 2.

So pleased for you
