Heart nerve block questions

Has anyone had a gangleon nerve block? I had my 7th block today (tried my right arm instead of the left where it all started) and he said he used a different med this time. What meds do they usually use? Before I got immediate relief from the medication...then they stopped working for very long on my left side. I don't know what he gave me but he said it could take up to 20 min. to start working....I saw no improvement in my hand temps even after I left. I guess the swelling has gone down some and it isn't purple-but it wasn't too bad when I got there. Anyone know what he could have given me?
lots of love,
Jennelle

I couldn't even begin to guess and probably no one else could either. It's usually numbing meds and steroids. I wrote an article on what I read they put in it. It seems weird he would change what is used though especially since it doesn't appear it did you any good. When blocks stop working it means your pain has gone independent. I know that you can have independent pain on one side but not another. Usually what part has had it longest can go that way. Everyone is different and some stay smp longer than others. Everything always depends on the way our individual bodies work. It's no wonder there are no treatments for us. *sigh*

I'm sorry it didn't turn out so good for you.

Big Hugs,

Karen

i have what karen is talking about .the upper half of my body responds to blocks but my legs usually dont i will have a esi on the 26th just to prove it but i hope to dear god that maybe i can get some relief. which is weird with me because i had the rsd in the right arm shoulder neck first. my RSd spread arm to arm then back to right leg then left and back up .. i know weird but like my friends and family call me the freak of nature.. if anything weird could happen it will happen to me ..

about the meds there really is no telling what he gave you and its weird that he wouldnt tell you, but then again some dont. my pm will always tell me what they are giving me period or i ask outright . im so sorry that it didnt work . i know how disappointing that it can be

hang in there girl

I am so sorry. I think as a patient you have the right to know what he gave you. I would call today and ask that way in next treatments you know as well. Sending many thoughts always
