I am on Cymbalta and have not noticed this. Not to say it is not from it or from rsd though. Are you on any other meds too? I know with me since I have developed rsd I have also had a lot of skin issues so on. It may be a fluke or it may have a connection.

I had the same experience after starting on Cymbalta for my CRPS. My hair was falling out at a greatly increased rate and this went on for a number of weeks. However, I also started various other meds at the same time and I honestly think it was neither the CRPS nor the Cymbalta - I reckon it was good, old-fashioned stress. Don't underestimate the physical, psychological and emotional trauma that comes with the initial CRPS diagnosis, coming to terms with all of the symptoms and so on. I wouldn't worry about it - just keep an eye on it and you'll probably find that it gradually stops as you gradually get to grips with everything. If not, then it is probably worth raising with your doctor. |

Read the information you were given along with the Cymbalta, the package insert if any, and try and find that side-effect among the listed side-effects. If it's serious hair loss, not just increased hair loss, then I'd contact your doctor about it if it persists.
You can find an online version here, @RXlist.com: http://www.rxlist.com/cymbalta-drug.htm

I have a side effect with the Humira it am taking for Rheumatoid Arthritis. When it first happened, I actually went to the ER. No one there could point to the Humira because it was not a "listed side effect." Same thing with my PCP and with my Rheumatologist. She contacted the manufacturer, and they had not heard of it, either. After it happened several times, to where there is a definite cause-and-effect, it has become clear that it is the Humira - along with everything else I am taking and all of my other conditions. Someday, this side effect will probably be added to the fine-print list. You may indeed have this because of the Cymbalta, even if it is not common. Be sure to report it to the doctor. This is how drug companies find out about things that need to be improved. Mike |

It could very well be a med. The Dr. just started me on a hormone med awhile back and my hair was falling out like crazy. When I am off the med, I do lose some but not as much as I was losing on the med.
Carrie, I will give you enough to make you a wig. My hair is very thick. I have to get it thinned at least 2 times a year. Even losing some hasn't effected the thickness of mine. Some of the meds can cause hair loss. They don't always list all of the side effects of a med on the paperwork you get with your med. Read up on it on the computer, in several places and you should find out if it will cause hair loss. Ada |

I take a daily multi vitamin. I noticed hair loss and the vitamin has slowed it down.
Take care, Sherrie |
