Heart Dew Heading Back to Oklahoma 5/14/09;Update on Sis

Sis did real well during her colonoscopy this morning. There were NO TUMORS in the colon The biopsy from the endoscopy came back today,as well. The large cysts lesion is benign The tail of the pancreas has a liquid mass and it is cancerous. There will be a whipple technique/resection of the pancreas at a later date. Everything has to be coordinated with the other doctor that will do the surgery. Sis told me that she will tell her doc to make it after 5/26/09, so that I can be here with her for that surgery. We won't know until that surgery is underway, to see if it has spread to the lymph nodes. The doc this morning thinks all will be well, and sis 's cancer was detected earlier then any cancer of the pancreas he has ever seen...so, it has been a good day.

I hate the idea of packing..we will leave around 6:00AM, tomorrow. We have had such a great time here, with sis and the family. I know I need to get home, I just don't want to go.

Thanks for all your prayers and comments. Talk to you soon.

Dew

I'm so happy about your sister. It's great that they caught is early and it sounds like she is in good spirits. I hope you will be able to be there with her, I know it will mean a lot to her.

Miss you

Hi Dew,
Thanks for the update! It's been a pleasure talking with you here in Arizona. When you come back, I hope to meet you in person and your sister. Have a safe trip home and talk to you later. Your friend, loretta

Hi Dew,

Thank you for keeping us all updated - I really appreciate it!!

SO glad to hear that your sisters results came back good and that the cancer hasn't spread - that is great and you must all be so relieved!! I hope that her surgery goes well and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope you have a safe and low pain journey home! I'm glad you had a good time at your sisters and that you had plenty of time to 'relax' and go in the pool to do some exercises!!!

Take care of yourself and know i'm thinking about you all!!

Alison

Default Hi Dew,

I am happy that they caught your sisters cancer in time. That is great news.

I am dealing with this with my brother. He has been fighting colon cancer now for 2 years. Last week he checked himself back into the hospital without telling anyone. My brothers had to go looking for him to find out where he was. He never has done anything like this before. I still haven't found out what shape he is in. I'm worried about him.

I am glad you got away for awhile even though it was for a hard reason. BUT the news is good.

Ada

I am glad the colonoscopy went well and that your sister is tumor free, also that the cysts lesion is benign!

They discovered her cancer early, thank God!
