Unhappy It's been ANOTHER bad day

Hi all,

As you all know I had to let me 18 year old dog pass over Monday of last week. Well, yesterday I had to let my 15 year old girl pass over to be with Chelsea. They are now side by side in the yard, and running and playing side by side at the Rainbow Bridge. I thought my heart was broken for good. To lost 2 of your best friends within 8 days. When DH and I came home and walked into an almost empty house, (only have 1 puppy left.) we decided that we needed another one. So I found a little girl down in Richmond, and we went down there and adopted her and brought her home. She is a joy, but spent the whole night crying. And then I'm fostering a 3 wk old kitten for a friend. So, I'm getting up every 3 hrs to feed her and make her poop. Such fun. At least it fills up the empty holes in my heart. Of course, it stand to reason that the rsd is flairing up. Oh well.

Hugs
Mary

Heart sorry....

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is wonderful that you foster animals. You have a big heart. I hope the flare stops and you be able to get some rest.

Mary, I am fairly new to this site but understand what it is like to lose a pet(family member). I had to have my cat put to sleep trhee years ago and I still miss her. Be proud and happy of what you are doing for the animals that you can take care of. Hope you have a pain free night! Linda

Hi Mary, I am so very sorry for you losing your two buddies in a week, That's really rough. We have a 9 years old maincoon cat. She comforts me beyond belief. They just know don't they, the feel our pain and do something sweet for us.
Take care of yourself and make that ol flare go away. I slept one hour last night. It's warm here in the desert, so I'm swimming every day, except today-no energy. We have friends from Oregon, visiting They come every other year for about 10 days. They are in medical field, she is a counselor, boy do I need that right now. So kind and compassionate. So is her husband, who also is in medical field.
Talk to you again soon, your friend, loretta

Mary,

I hope you can find some support in the pup, and the new little one and the baby kitty you're fostering. I am sorry for your loss!

I would like to thank everyone for the kind thoughts. I spent part of yesterday crying, and then decided that I needed to get myself together to help the ones that I have now. I'm ok with my decision to let them go. There is no guilt at all. They are in the yard together, and have a beautiful yellow rose bush above them, the we have quite a few roses on then now. It's amazing how fast they started to bloom. My new girl is a real joy. She can make us laugh which is wonderful. We had to take our Heidi to the vet this morning, (I know how bad can things get). Well she has pancratis (I know it's not spelled right). So the dr said we could keep her in the hospital with IVs or take her home and get her to drink. We brought her home and gave her all her meds, (pain pills etc) and I just gave her turkey and rice to eat and she scarffed it down. So she is doing better. I am coming out of the dumps and starting to feel better. the poor vet couldn't believe our luck. She kept saying that we must be shell shocked. SO true.

Hugs
Mary

Dear Mary,

You are an awesome dog mom to keep your dogs living to the ripe old ages of 15 and 18! What an accomplishment! And to have them both pass relatively quickly with little suffering is very nice. Still very, very sad, though. I'm so sorry to hear about your second loss.

XOXOX , Sandy
