Default Visceral symptoms

For those of you who have visceral symptoms, I have a question. I have CRPS in my right arm and hand as a result of a shoulder surgery a little more than a year ago. I also think I have some isolated spread in my right foot that started soon after the surgery after getting into too hot of bath water.

I can still walk without problems but lately, after 30 minutes or so of walking, I get a very deep hot feeling in my right lower abdomen that radiates out around my right hip and down into the front of my right thigh; also very, very deep. It is not the intense burning type of pain that I get in my arm and hand, it feels like someone turned on a heating pad, inside. Very weird.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar???

Hi Dubious, I've had deep hot spots in my lower abdomen and groin area. Skin turned red, like a very bad sunburn, then broke out in itchy rash. went away and hasn't come back. Except I still have the 'heated' feeling in lower abs. One of the three main functions of sympathetic nervous system in body temperature. www.rsdrx.com is a lot of information. This Doc in Florida is now retired. But still has a wealth of information we can read and learn. I almost went down there when I was first diagnosed. Someone else has taken over his practice. Be well, loretta

Yes, Duby!
It's all a dam weird sensation, when it starts to spread!
This monster, has us "check in all stations", what's wrong?
And, yet,
nothing reports back as "wrong".
Right?
No,
Wrong!

We get these weird sensations, from anywhere else in the body,
(I know, mostly mirrored, but not always!)
And, it's not the "same",
because we have no "Injury there".

So,
what are we to believe?

I'll tell you.
Believe Your Body, and it's sensations!
Don't let ANY doctor tell you it's wrong!
(Go to the guinea Pig page),
You MUST tell the Docs!

They're still All learning!
WE've got to teach them!
It's OUR RESPONSIBILITY!
For ourselves, and others!

How else will they learn?

We get "Mirrored" pain.
and, anything else that you Feel!

Talk about it, Ask about it!
Don't let it make you insane!!

It's ALL True!

My thoughts and love are with ya!

Carry on, and carry forward!

Tell your docs!
Be sure they make a record of what you feel!

Lightbulb

That radiating pain to the hip/thigh sounds like meralgia paresthetica. Tight belts, tight jeans, wallets in the back pocket can be triggers for this.

I developed mine from a C-section.
This pain is sensory only and involves the lateral femoral sensory nerve. It can become entrapped, and then start firing away!

When Lidoderm patches came out, they were a total Godsend for me. Using them daily in the "right" spot, for 2 weeks, turned the nerve off for me. Now only extreme stretching or heat will activate it, and I consider myself 90% "cured". It is still there, but the terrible pain I had (like 100 beestings) is gone. It started with odd sensations of heat and like hot water running down my leg, and progressed to horrible lightning like strikes of shooting pain. The Lidoderms were simply fabulous for this problem.

Trochanteric bursitis will also give similar symptoms, and that is treated differently.

There is a nice diagram at this website showing the distribution of the nerve involved in MP:

Default something similar

I sometimes get something similar during flare-ups. It's a mild burning sensation inside (and a little on the skin of) the right side of my lower abdomen, accompanied by a moderate burning sensation on the skin of the right side of my groin. Not too much in hip, though. I don't wear tight jeans.

I have CRPS type II from venipuncture injury to the sensory branch of the median nerve in my right arm. It spread first to the upper right quadrant of my body, then to the right leg, and is now on the entire right side of my body. The burning under the skin of the abdomen is fairly new, only in about the last 6 months.

Different every day.....

Thanks AnniePoo, How much time elapsed before you noticed the first spread? And how long before you notice the warmth sensation?
