I've never ever heard of Prednisone being any kind of treatment for RSD.

Are you sure you are getting it for the RSD? Maybe there are other things going on? I'd try and talk this through very carefully with the doctor because at least you should be clear on why something is given to you.

i dont know what has helped my crps thes past months as the pain and crps symptoms are somewhat better at least the pain is manageable for the first time ever. one of the changes before this happened for me was i got gout and could not walk at all, my doc couldnot get me in so i ended up going to er for treatment and he gave me a week or 2 of prednisone. i am now taking colchisine for gout outbreaks. so maybe it was theprednisone that started this, it would be awesome to know cuz i am going crazy trying to figure out why i have been able to reduce my daily and break thru pain control meds.

I am quite pleased to hear you have less pain, that's great news. I myself had some substantial pain relief from prednisone, but the psychosis it gave me vastly outweighed and benefits. If it works, use it. Later, Smoke

hey bobber

i have had alot of experience with this med not because of my RSD but because of two things. my daughter has mod asthma and this is used alot for it to clear the inflammation in the lungs and air ways.. but i have also had this for allergic reactions. but i have never had this for RSD like someone said there is alot of side effects from this meds. like osteoporosis and weight gain mood issues not being able to sleep etc. has this been helping with your RSD ?

ya they work,,,i take them when i need them, they calmed my legs down and they arent red very much anymore,,my neuro dr and painmanage dr both put me on them,,the loading phase is what sucked,,thought i was losing it,,,but i found a my groove with tghem,,i take 3 or less per day now that ive got a scrip of them,,,too may and im moody,,,..but they do what the dr said they do,,bobber also the nurse said that men due to the testosterone,,makes them a little more whacked until your body gets used to them,,and i also take a break from them too,,that way i skip the long term effects
