Logic and Math???
Here is how I have seen a lot of my prescriptions written.
"Take 1-2 every 4-6 hours as needed for pain." Now let's do the math: Two each times every six hours = 8 per day. Eight per day times 31 days in most months = 248. _____________________________ Here is how the nurse figured it: "(I guess that will probably be about three to six per day)" Three times an average of 30 days in a month = 90. "(If they he/she takes two instead of one, it might be six instead of three.) Six times an average of 30 days in a month = 180. Result: The prescription is written for 180 pills, when you might, by following the directions, use as many as 248. You are 68 pills short. That could be ten days or more worth! Please don’t take this the wrong way. This is not meant to bad-mouth all clinic nurses and medical assistants. Many are wonderful. I am only addressing the problem mentioned by DEW. Mike |
Just a thought, my dr here in Va has written scripts for the next 3 months for me on the Opana ER. Each script is for one month, and he wrote in on the fill date, do not fill before 7/11. That way, I don't have to keep going back to him every month, yet I can't fill it before the fill date. Would he be willing to do that for you? I hope he can, that way you can stay with your sister as long as you need to. Let me know how you are doing.
Miss you Mary |
Again, thank you for all your replies to my issue:)
I will see what can be done as far as scripts being written in the future with dates on them for the OpanaER;however, my doc seems to be ultra rigid. Tramadol, a non-narcotic med..and the trouble I had getting script refilled. This incident would not have happened if the correct amt. was scripted in the first place. :grouphug: |

DEW, You can look at this in reverse of what Mary said. (I've had it done that way too)! But, say your doctor is going on vacation. What mine does is this: (No matter who is going away, or whatever). He writes my script for say Methadone. It's dated, the day he see's me, but is noted "Do not fill before" usually a month later. And, all is good in the world again. Some folks, really have a way of making life difficult, but to think that you'd be limited to staying with your Sis for only as long a script allows, is craziness! Your Doctors Craziness! Call them, talk it out, explain your situation, and they SHOULD work something out for you! Pete |
