Default RSD Diet

Hi All,

The one thing I have cut out of my life since having RSD is caffeine. I read that caffeine makes RSD worse.

Coffee effects me negatively for sure, yet I still drink it.

Hi Nancy,
I was trying to eat wisely when I was first diagnosed..stopped wheat, dairy, and sugar..i lost some weight and lost weight, too, because I was so anxious and in a panic, newly diagnosed with RSD..

Then I started the neurontin and i couldn't stop eating..I tried to eat sanely again but i just kept gaining weight to the tune of 30 pounds in a few months... Also my hair is falling out!!!!!!!!

I have to start on the 4 F's (fruits, veggies, fish and fowl) again before I get past the point of no return!!

Sometimes I think I am self medicating with food...
I don't know if it's the Neurontin, the anxiety, or frustration...
But I know I gotta get back to the 4 f's...thanks for this thread!
Mmmmmm, broccoli, romaine, cantaloupe, rasberries, tuna and grilled chicken!!!

I love chocolate and I always joked that it was my medication (before RSD) Now, if I eat it I have to be prepared to be "down" for at least a day. I have always been a huge dark chocolate lover and I have to walk past it in the store and smell it. It stinks to have to give up something that I love so much. I have found that hot chocolate with a lot of milk replaces these urges, but it's not the same.

Cindi are you diabetic? That is interesting you see such a connection between your pain and chocolate. I have often wondered if certain foods can really impact. I was reading how when people have a sensitivity even not just being allergic that it can cause problems and flare ups in the body. I need to eat healthier in general. I am a sugar addict. I have been to so many nutritionists and could write the book but need to follow it. My major focus before was always to put on weight or keep it on and now it needs to be for how maybe I respond to pain and overall feelings
