Thumbs up How wonderful!

That is just fabulous about this improvement!

I would be just thrilled too. Thanks for the update!

my cats send your kitten greetings and continuing improvement using the
"cat blink" which means "YES" to me.

(we have 2 black cats)

And P.S. I'd be very careful with anesthetics in the future! VERY. This may be a thing idiosyncratic for MoonShadow!

That's really wonderful news to read, Chemar.
When my daughter's cat went through her crisis which was a little similar (caused by poisoning from eating tulip leaves) we thought her days were numbered sadly. However, she also made a good recovery and she never had any more seizures or eye problems or anything anymore.

It's almost without thinking that I've sent my animals to the vet for procedures in the past and never asked too many questions. I'll know to think more and ask more questions in the future.

A little off-topic, but on the subject of anaesthetics... I was watching a show on tv here earlier in the week about a genetic problem that some people can have which causes them to get a life threatening illness after having certain anaesthetics. Malignant Hyperthermia. The interesting thing was that they found the same gene and problem in pigs as well. Made me wonder at the time if cats can get this type of thing as well.

My heart couldn't be more full right now.

Cheri, thank you for the update on a journey of pain and healing start to finish. What an amazing story and y'all are still in my continual prayers.

Wink just a note here...Cherie,

I was talking to our librarian today and the subject of cats came up and
therefore your crisis with MoonShadow. She was sympathetic and said she
had a blind cat. Hers meowed alot, and used echo sounds from the meowing
to get around quite well. So if your kitten seems more vocal now, maybe he
is using that trick. Don't be totally alarmed, in other words. I thought I'd pass
that along.
That he is watching out the window that is a very good sign.

Hi mrsD

thanks for that info...he was more vocal during that time of vision loss so that is very interesting

we are 100% certain now that he definitely has some, if not all vision back, confirmed yesterday at our vet's

he is now on the tapered dose of the dexamethasone, every three days until this course is finished.

He and Twilight are back to playing all their favorite games of tag and run at each other and leap up to meet in the air, plus all the other neat stuff that kittens do

we will always be more cautious now with Shadow...no unsupervised outdoors and any future veterinary stuff again with great care.....
but it looks like our lil dude has made a remarkable recovery

thanks again to all of you who have been so supportive and caring here and for all the prayers lifted for Shadow and for my son
