Mom's update:
"We just finished the first day of radiation and it went as well as can be expected. Claire was a little calmer going to sleep this time, but still woke up mad. Hopefully she will adjust. She has to be put to sleep everyday for the radiation which is really the hardest part of the whole thing. Within 30 minutes of coming out of anesthesia she is back to normal. Please pray for peace for Claire and that God would give her understanding beyond her age. She was watching a movie the other day where one of the characters had cancer. She was so excited by it she said, "Mom, she has cancer just like me!". I probably won't update much unless something happens, but please don't stop praying! We will be getting more scans soon to see where she is in addition to preparing for antibody therapy"

A better update today :
"Well I had to update today because I have to praise the Lord and thank you all for praying. Claire did not cry today when they put her to sleep. She just said, "I don't like the way this smells!". So we are going to bring her raspberry chapstick tomorrow to rub in the mask for her to smell instead of the gas. She also woke up happy today. The nurse said it is probably because she went to sleep calm."

Todays update from Mom:
"Well we just wrapped up week one of radiation and Claire continues to do great! She has made a little friend, William, who is four years old and going through radiation at the same time. He brought her a cupcake today with chocolate icing and red hearts. My heart is heavy for Jack today. Please pray for this boy who has relapsed with Neuroblatoma. I believe is 10 years old. The disease has progressed even with chemotherapy. I met them during Claire's first outpatient chemo at Scottish Rite. Jack is special boy and I would ask that you please pray for his family today."

Week 2 of radiation complete! Here's the latest update:
"Week 2 of radiation complete! Claire is doing so well with being put to sleep everyday. She has no anxiety about it at all and I thank God for giving her peace. She will have radiation Monday and Tuesday of next week and we will be done with it. We will still have visits to the clinic at Egleston every week for labs and she will have scans in the next couple of weeks to see where she is. Then it's on to antibody therapy. It's going to be hard, but our Strength (Jesus Christ) will get us through it."

How amazingly He has worked in the miracle of little Claire!!! She and your family continue to be in my most sincere prayers. You have all been so courageous and continue to be. How wonderful that you have drawn your strength from our Lord, Jesus Christ! He is so happy with you all that you have chosen to depend on him. What a wonderful testimony you have been given!

Mom's latest update. She is cancer-free!:
"We are rejoicing again!! Claire's scans and bone marrow biopsy came back clean. We were not expecting anything different, but just hearing it is so good. She will be admitted on 3/28 to Egleston to start antibody therapy. We will be there about one week. Please pray for me as I will be giving her injections before and after the hospital stay. This medicine won't go in her central line at home, but under the skin."
