She was at home and doing well but her levels dropped (whatever that means) and they are back in the hospital with her for 4-5 more days. She seems to be doing well.....and she can have visitors......so hopefully they are being overly cautious. Better safe than sorry. She begins her second round of chemo in two and a half weeks.

Here is the latest update we've received:

"Psalm 89:15, "Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Oh Lord."

We are back at Scottish Rite because Claire got a fever Saturday night. When we got to the hospital, we discovered that her blood levels dropped early. They usually drop between 7-10 days after chemo. So we will be here for 4-5 days. It will depend on her blood levels.

Her fever is gone and she is feeling good. We can have visitors as long as you are not sick or been around someone who is. Visitors help lift her spirits. She naps from 2-4pm and won't be able to visit at that time. She is playing, eating and happy."

Kitty, most likely it is her white and red blood cells. Chemo can wreak havoc on the immune system and red blood cells. Still praying for her recovery from all this.

Here's some pics of Claire in the hospital. Just breaks my heart. She's such a sweet little girl. I wish I could take this trial for her. I know it isn't up to me.......but I wish that I could.

Just got word that she will have to have a blood transfusion tomorrow and will need to stay in the hospital a little longer than they anticipated.

Edited to add most recent update from her Mom:

"Claire will be getting a blood transfusion tomorrow because some of her counts are still low. This means we will be here a little longer. The oncologist said this is not unusual for the type of chemo Claire is undergoing.

Thank you to everyone for praying and supporting us! It is just the beginning of a long road."

Kelly, I'm still praying for an earthly healing for that precious angel! She is a beautiful little girl.

Latest update.......

"Please pray for the family today. It has been very emotional (many tears) and hard. Claire's hair started falling out in clumps. We look to the source of Comfort to face the realities and heartache."

There is nothing more sobering than watching a small child suffer. It breaks my heart. Literally. There is a physical pain in me for this child. I'm desperately trying to make sense of it all.

Heart

oh Kelly
I continue to pray for precious Claire and family and (((you)))

we have a similar situation unfolded in our area, in that the pastor of Northland Church, Joel Hunter, has a 5 yo grandaughter, Ava, who just had surgery to remove a lemon sized malignant mass from her brain. As soon as I read about her, I thought of Claire

perhaps following their updates can also help encourage you and Claire's parents. As I read the prayer comments on Northland's website, I agree with them for Claire too
top right of Northland's website is the blog section where there are updates and prayer comments re Ava's progress
