Default More central Florida Weather Woes

A very severe line of thunderstorms moved thru our area early this morning

we are ok but just to the north and west of us is another story

I have been up since 4am with all the thunder, lightning and strong winds.

our tornado warning has now expired, and we even have some blue sky and sun peeking thru........but daylight brought scenes of enormous destruction all around the area, particularly in Volusia and Lake counties, and there have definitely been fatalaties, and injuries, altho the exact number is not yet released. Many are homeless

Your prayers for all impacted are appreciated. Much of the worst damage is in areas where there are retirement mobile home communities

Cheri

I'm glad to hear you're okay. I have a very dear friend who lives in Dover (haven't heard from her yet, hope she's okay) - do you live anywhere near there?

Sending my prayers to those who lost homes and loves ones in these storms.

Hi Kathy and Curious and thanks for your prayers

at present the death toll is 14 and climbing as many are still trapped in the rubble, hopefully not injured or dead, but there is deep concern

here is our local newspaper which is regularly updating info on their front page

I was just reading my own news before coming here and I thought that sounded in your area. How shocking. What a dreadful time for a tornado and storm to hit. ugh. I am so glad you are all safe... I sure hope all our other members from that area are as well. Just shocking

p.s. just a note. they mentioned that there are more of these types of storms in your winter when there is El Nino. Well, there's heaps in our news here that we're looking at the end of this El Nino very soon.
