Default Our Burdens

I was looking through a devotional book that someone had given my Grandma Neff (who died before I was born) for Easter, back in the thirties or forties. She was an invalid a long time due to heart disease. Here is a paragraph from the first page:

"We are to cast all our burdens upon the Lord, also the lifelong burdens and afflictions and the long-drawn-out sicknesses. These want to crush a family. There is no escape from the daily sameness. Under such conditions, invalids often become despondent. They become weary of being helpless. Without God and faith in the love of God, such burdens crush us."

I love that verse, and it has helped me when I felt like my heart was failing me.
I would meditate on that verse.

In Matthew 12:20,and Isaiah 42:3,I would come across the verse 3. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench;he shall bring forth judgement unto truth.
(King James Version)

Thank you B2U and Brokenfriend . I needed thoses verses today.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).

I watched Joyce Meyer this morning. She was talking about "waiting" for the Lord with our illness. She decribed waiting as, "expecting" and "praying". Pray to God about our expecting the promise he has given us.

I try to wait, but need LOTS of reminders. Thank you both for sharing your spriritual insight.

I love to watch Joyce Meyer. It's a good way to start the day.
