Default My mom passed today . . .

After Alzheimer's . . . it almost feels like I have been in the process of losing her over the span of a couple years now. It is most likely I will not be able to fly home for her funeral . . . but I am coming to some peace about that.

I'm so sorry. Alzheimer's is such a cruel disease. My Mom and sister passed from it and it truly is like losing someone twice. Your Mom will know that you're with her even if you're not physically there. Take care of yourself during this emotional time.

Heart

My thoughts are with you, lefthanded.

Keep strong.

Edited to add after reading your other thread... I actually have tears in my eyes knowing how it must feel to be so very far away and to be unable for health and distance reasons to be where you really want to be. I'm so sorry, but I do understand that.

I lost my great grandmother to Alzheimer's. It was so painful to be around when she was no longer acting like herself. I hope she passed peacefully.

I was actually able to make it home for her funeral, thanks to an airline with a great compassion-fare and services. Felt all your prayers --- Thanks!

Now exhausted!

So glad you got to go. I know it's exhausting both physically and mentally so make sure you get some rest.
