If, you haven't "chased this one" .. consider this .. God has a number of ways of talking to us .. how many have you counted?

Ring Ring .. Bob, I just lost my God Squad leader, what are you doing Tuesday afternoons, 4:00 to 5:00 after school.

I had only been going to this huge church for several months and was already teaching Sunday School to 4th - 6th graders .. and 4th - 6th graders would be in this class also. What do you want me to teach them .. the Bible. I'm already doing that, what do you want me to teach them. The Bible. Let me think about it and I'll call you back.

I couldn't think of anything more boring than getting the Bible pounded into these kids twice in one week by the same teacher. Lord, what should I do?

Then, (1) this wild idea came into my head .. I just read "the Nature of Alexander" and I had been studying Greek for a year .. what if, and I laid out the plan to Gill the Pastor and he said yes. Alexander had a significant impact on Biblical Times for at the Death of Alexander the richest sword fight in History occurred .. his general's fought for the possession of some of the territory they had conquered .. and Rome and Egypt empires would rise from the discord .. like Roman Kings and Roman soldiers executed Christ.

So, I showed up my first Tuesday afternoon and had all students from class, .. seven of them and read to them the nice stuff from my book on the Nature of Alexander .. some I did not bring into the picture .. just the history. At the end I put the Greek Alpha Bet on the board and went over about seven letters .. and jokingly said .. I'm going to teach you Greek, little realizing how close to the truth this would come.

The second meeting .. there were 19 in class .. friends of those that came to the first. The third .. there were 24 and the class leveled out at 34, Gill said he had never seen anything like it. We moved into the teen classroom to handle the crowd and I asked for help, discipline was getting to be a problem. I got none and did as best I could, parents were coming up to me in Church and said they had sent their kid because I was attempting to teach them Greek and they liked that.

The kids "slam dunked" the Greek alpha bet and so I threw the phonics of the letters at them .. they gobbled that up as well as the historical aspects of the conquest of the whole ancient world .. Greece to India .. the Hindu Cush .. Bucephalus .. the Gordian Knot .. his wife drug out of a cave in Afghanistan .. and one little girl named Emily devoured it all far and above everyone else .. and they learned the Greek words that I taught them.

Grown High School kids started reading our "Do not Erase" section of their SS board .. the alpha bet and words and would come up to these little bitty kids and ask them what this meant and what that meant .. and those little kids would throw their chest out and tell them .. started telling the kids at school what they were doing at Church!

Several years ago I called retired Judge _____ and asked him how Emily was doing. Something just put her on my heart and I wanted to know (2).
He asked, "don't you read the paper?" And I answered "No, I can't stand the Times News" and he laughed. Well, he told me, Emily is a Fulbright Scholar and is in her last year of school .. National Companies fight over her to see if she will come do a summer intern ship with them in hopes of her choosing them to work for after she graduates .. and I didn't have to spend one dime for her education .. being a Fulbright Scholar is a "full ride."

(3) Thank you Lord for the stars you place in my crown .. I shall throw my crown at your feet some day.

It is called The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman. got it on my nook through Barnes and Noble. This was one of the top reads in my life for me. It is a heck of a story, and one worth remembering. Hope you read it, the library may have a copy. Copyright 2011 let me know ginnie

My wife of 50 years took a bad direction mentally recently. Will see where this leads. She has seen her Angels .. I can't see them ...... "there they are again." Where? Over there. Out on the road .. no. In the drive way .. no. By the loafing shed .. yes. We were sitting on the front porch. Are they dressed in white .. yes. How many of them .. three. Do they scare you .. big smile .. no. Nancy did 24 years in E. R. ... 9 in ICU .. I call her "Mrs. Adrenalin Rush."

I have taken her through six heart attacks .. voice in my head .. "find Nancy." Two complete occlusions; ten small blood vessel strokes; one thrombosis, sleep apnea and tiny blood vessels .. all cured or stabilized with red chili pepper gel caps .. one a day .. rest on Sunday .. Adoni and me working together .. I know he loves her .. he keeps telling me to find her when she is dying .. the first heart attack she died .. all four signs .. eyes fixed and dilated, purple, not breathing, loss of continence .. I prayed Isa. "by your stripes we are healed" and she came back. We didn't even go into E. R.
