Yesterday, my parents took my Grandma to the doctors. Grandma hates the doctor but needed to show him somethng. They found a rather large lump in her breast. They got in into the hospital for a mammogram today and an ultrasound immediately afterward. Now we have to wait!!! They say the results should be in by next Wednesday! That seems so long. When they found my lump I found out within 2 days so I am hoping that we will hear something faster. PLEASE PRAY FOR MY GRANDMA!! She will be 89 in November and she is the most wonderful (Great, great) grandma in the world!! She has always said that after beating colon cancer she would never have treatment for cancer again. I am so worried and find it difficult to "turn it over" right now. I would really appreciate prayers for her.....Thank you Dorrie

That sucks. Grannies at that age don't usually change their minds either. I'm thankful you're not distracted with work and can spend a little time with her.
Be sure to tell her everything you want to say to her, knowing she hears you. It's not easy to hold conversations with our grandmothers at a grave site. They don't talk much - they only listen. She sounds like a tough cookie. She may surprise you and decide to stick around a little longer. Hope so. Your grandmother is in my prayers. |

Dorrie
I pray the results show it is benign and that it can be treated or removed with no problems

OOO Dorry, what a difficult thing to get the news of...at any age, but at her age of 89 can imagine she's either saying "I'll beat this lump", or saying "I'm old anyways". I shall add her to my prayer list hun. I know it has to be difficult for you and for your parents.

Thank you everyone!! I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers! My Grandma is a spitfire! She is getting slower but she is a fighter. She is abour 4'8" tall...I am 5'1"....she is a little round...me too... her name is Doris...my name is Doris too!!! She is one of the kindest souls you would ever want to meet! She is the perfect Grandma. When we were young she was very involved in the church and taught Sunday school for years....My favouite song she taught us was "Jesus Loves Me" When we were in public school she volunteered at the school library so she could be closer to us. Oh I hope she is OK. I do not want to lose her!! I love her sooo much!
