Default Does Anybody Hear Her/Casting Crowns

This young man sang this song at our church a month ago by a group called Casting Crowns. The song is called "Does Anybody Hear Her?" It really touched my heart. My interpretation of it is (more or less) is it seems to be about a woman in emotional pain who reaches out to the church, but is ignored or in some way judged and does not receive the help she needs...which perhaps worsens her pain. It is very powerful. I'm not sure I fully understand the last line. Has anyone heard the song? I googled it...not sure if this is perfectly correct; but I am posting the words as far as I can tell they are accurate or near accurate:
Does Anybody Hear Her Lyrics
Artist(Band):Casting Crowns Review The Song (54) Print the Lyrics

She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we've never even met her

If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we've never even met her

Never even met her

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?
Does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?

He is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction...

end

thanks for posting this one Vowel Lady

yes, they have a way of getting right to the heart of the matter, dont they.

our local paper had a story a few weeks ago on a project that observed how many of us walk the talk, and it was very revealing

always a good wake up call to go back and read about how Jesus spent His precious time when here on earth in the flesh. serving the Father and serving people, *especially* the people that so many who claim His Name tend to shun

but

thankfully there ARE many who do follow in His footsteps and my prayer is that there will be many many more

anyone who hasnt heard the song can tune in here for the audio & video:

Hi Vowel Lady - are you an "ahhhhh" or an "ooooh" type of lady?

I've never heard of that song before, but I like the lyrics. I get the same impression about the song - a woman in need and desperately searching, but only finding judgment.

That has been the problem I've observed when churches place too much emphasis on judgment. People no longer see the person, they only see the "sin" - this type of judgment can turn away people in need. As a result, these lambs end up getting eaten by wolves.

The impression I get from the last line is similar to "...and the beat goes on." - i.e., another person in need shows up. Maybe the gender of the person was changed to reflect that people and their circumstances are different. They should be seen as individuals - not lambs.

I could be wrong....thanks for the brainteaser.

Default Hello

to all...My son the youngest one age 30,job is to get kids 12-18 off
the streets of Mpls. Mn. He works for a not for profit agency,it's
gets 60 below'o same nights..There are 700 beds available, at shelters,
for these Children, that are called the run awys and throwaways.

He is good at writing gov. grants, and they depend on charity of anyone
who wants to give. It's run very much like The Children Of The night.
And yes the meaning of the last line,is it's a never ending cycle.
And it's getting bigger, right here in the United States.. My son is
married and a father,he finds his job rewarding, but i'm sure exhausting.

I hope more peeople see and hear this song because it's not hard to look
away, but stop and say welcome,at least buy them something warm
to drink or gloves to wear.. Thank you for the song,i hope people listen.
Just a proud Mama

we had another thread here recently on another song by Casting Crowns that also cuts to the core of where we are in our caring and compassion scale

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ad.php?t=30271

God has really been using so much of Casting Crowns' music to speak to my heart about so many things.

Thanks again for posting this one Vowel Lady
