Default I have a question...

Hello,

My name is Nancy and this is the first time I have been here although I have meant to join you frequently.

Unfortunately, my first question is a very sad one. One of my friends is loosing her husband to cancer. He is now in a coma, at home with hospice care. She refuses to leave his side due to a promise made to him that she would be with him until the end. Knowing her husband, I'm sure he asked for no Life Support. I'm worried about the strain on my friend. Her grown children (2) are not there as they expected him to die before Thanksgiving and they went home for 10 days then.

How long does a cancer patient in a coma have before death? Is there such a thing as an average? I can't believe this is happening to them. They were our best friends for 9 yrs. before we moved to Nevada in 2004.

Any info on this? And, more importantly, prayers for Mark would be much appreciated. He did not have enough time to come to grips with dying.

Peace,
Nancy-H

Dear Nancy
I dont know the answers to your questions, but I have said a prayer for your friend and her family. I pray her husband is at peace. And I pray that God will put a shield around about her to sustain her at this very hard time, and that she will be very aware of His presence and His comfort and love.
