yes, I believe she knew......based especially on what the Gospel's record of the angelic visitation ...........but I dont think she knew the full extent...the wonder at the tributes when He was born, the awe after the first miracles and teachings began...... nor the sorrow and wrenching grief that she would endure

but I do think that in her heart, from that day when Gabriel visited her, she remembered the prophecy and knew........


I have heard so many versions recently of Mary Did You Know as our local station, The Zee ( www.zradio.com) is playing non stop versions of all carols....

Mark Lowry and Buddy Green... that has to be one of my favorite versions of that song!!

I was lucky enough to see/hear them perform this live several years ago... i just sat there and cried. I have an autographed copy of this on cd from Mark. (wonder where I placed it.... hmmm)

Abbie I just learned from reading the credits at the bottom of the link I posted that Mark Lowry wrote the lyrics and Buddy Green wrote the music of Mary, Did You Know.

No wonder they perform it so well! You were so fortunate to hear them in person! Mr.Alffe got me all the Gaithier Classic Gospel CD's...and of course I watche them on PBS every Sat. night but I honestly didn't realize they wrote it!!
