Thank you for the update, Marilyn. You know I will continue to keep Keith in my prayers. It's amazing how expensive those treatments are. My Dad had to have those $$$ shots too. Your'e right, thank goodness for insurance.

Take care of yourself.

Keith got his first haircut since January today! Yep, it's coming back..seems to be very blonde and curly. It was dark brown and straight before the chemo. He's still getting tired easily, especially after mowing lawn or anything too strenuous. I hadn't typed anything in here in a while, just wanted to keep y'all updated.

Hugs to everyone,

Marilyn

Great news, Marilyn! So, does he like having curly hair vs. straight?

Hugs to you both!

Must be Karma, Marilyn! I was wondering how Keith was doing and POOF~ there's your post. He is a miracle; but hope he remembers to take it a "little" easy. Thank you for the update. You and Keith continue to be in my prayers.

not sure if it's going to actually stay curly or blonde either one, right now it's quite thin and so light that it's hard to see....but he's just happy to be in the "next step of the healing"

I thank God for your kindness

My gosh but y'all just bring me to tears when I read all these posts and see all the beautiful graphics that you add to them!!!
I broke down, as did my cousin Judy last night. She and her husb. were visiting overnite while passing through our area on vacation.
When Judy asked Keith about what kept his spirits up the most during his chemo......his answer was "My Mom, and my girlfriend Amanda".
He went on to mention to the cousin how I had gotten up early each morn, gone to his house to pick him up and stayed there with him during each treatment instead of just saying "Call me when you're done" like MANY family members do there!!!
Keith went on to explain how he first felt like he didn't belong there since he was 27 and had a full head of hair at first and many other patients were in MUCH,MUCH worse condition. He shared with the cousin about how "Mom kept telling me 'yes you DO belong here, you're ALL survivors of this disease' .

God bless all of you great friends,

Dear Corky,

Your sharing with us the ups and downs and ups, and from now on it has to be steadily UP, has been a great help to me. Little did I know when you first told me of your son's diagnosis that my son would be diagnosed only months later with a soft tissue sarcoma in the inner thigh. The tumor was 5 cm, and the Dr assures us that all cancer and surrounding muscle is removed, and the leg will be OK again with physical therapy. (amputation is a word that frightens us beyond description - thank goodness it did not come to that) I was terrified while the operation lasted, and it took many hours. And so thankful to see both legs when it was over.
Now comes the 9 weeks of radiation and after that chemo. The tumor was more malignant than we were told at first.
Our son is 39, married and they have two small girls. I am aching to help, but we live too far away to see them often, and I am at times no help when my PD makes me shake and lose my balance.
Thank you Corky for giving me hope.
love from birte
