Default NOT in the name of God

Much is being done in the name of God today,
Murder and mayhem has become mainstay.
Wars of freedom, liberation and hate,
Wars by any name and fate –
But where do they lead and what do they make?
God can not be happy with this.
God can not be playing the drum -
Singing, this is the way it’s supposed to be done.
But laying down or rolling over is not the answer either.
The terrorists would see that as submission to their ether.
Fight them we must,
But become like them – we must not.

In prayer before the Almighty today,
If we pray not for peace; but for more warring ways –
To finance our factories and fund our forays,
Into ever expanding themes that challenges our mores –
We must ask ourselves - are these what He wants -
more missiles and tanks and weapons to flaunt?
I will soldier on and continue the fight; but I refuse to succumb to the thought that might’s right.
Christ died for my sins and for the ones of those aiming -
to kill me in ambush, ever patiently waiting.
Once they were children, playing soccer ball.
Now they are someone’s ticking time-bomb, answering an alter call –
NOT in the name of God I say - and for them, I will continue to pray.
