Thanks DM. It is so strange. She never was a really loving, touchy feeling type of mom, but nonetheless, she was mom. Now it's like she goes from crying, laughing, loving and anger at the drop of a hat. It's probably the stress and anguish at all that has happened. Hopefully her primary doctor will give her something to stay calm. My oldest brother is emotionally distant. It's all a sad situation. But the daughters are taking care of it. Who needs boys anyway? My mom's SIL's are better to her then the boys. lol

Hi Sandy! I have sent prayers up for you and your Mom.
My Mom had brain surgery 10 years ago. It took a very long time for her to fully recover........the better part of a year. Mom went back to work far too early as well and could not cope. She ended up with severe anxiety issues...very severe. Shehad a very hard time letting others help her. She thought she should be all better in no time flat. Truth is it took her many years to get past all of the residual effects. I do hope you Mom is OK. Brain surgery is so emotionally difficult on Mom and the family. Take Care of yourself and God Bless you and yours!

Hi I am Lady Veteran,
Please get a picture of your mom and lay it on a table or chair or whatever you feel comfortable with. Get as many of your friends, pastor, and or church members as possible to form a circle around the picture and join hands. Each person should say a personal prayer out loud according to how the Lord leads them and ask God for healing according to his will. This helped a gentleman who the doctors thought need a heart transplant due to his heart only functioning at 5%. He had another medical condition causing his body to shut down. He will be fine with treatment. To God be the glory and praise. Best wishes, God Bless and stay in touch. |

Dorrie, I am sorry I called you Sassy! I am losing it today. lol
Thanks for the background on your mom. I talked with mom today and she remembers nothing when I ask her something. For example, I asked her about her neuro and she said "what neuro?" or things like that. She has an appointment with the neuro on the 19th to go over her eeg's. He said there was no epilepsy activity which is good, but found two other active areas he wouldn't discuss over the phone. That has me a little concerned.

Hi Sandy! It is OK that you called me Sassy....maybe you mixed me up with Saffy, my granddaughter!!
I hope the time between now and you moms appointment flies! I do remember my mom had some issues with memory for several months....for example my brother would drop in....later in the day if you asked who came by she could not recall him being there at all....rather than say"Oh I must have forgot"...it would frustrate her and she would say that she was not stupid...if he was here I would remember!! She also was so determined to get back to "normal" that she resumed her accountant duties at home.....Dad had to take after shortly after because Mom kept paying the bills twice....she completely forgot that she had been to the bank already!! It was very frightening and it felt like she was never going to get thru it but she did and I am praying that your mom too will have a good and full recovery Sandy!! God Bless you !!
