Praise the Lord~~ I just told my DS that there's another "miracle" transplant to be thankful for. He just smiled at me and said "ALRIGHT"!!!

I am so happy for the family. Please tell them again how special they are for me, Becky.

Linda said everything is going great today with Rod and Gary. :D Rod was up walking today and got to go to ICU to see Gary for the first time since the transplant.:) I can't imagine how emotional that must have been. I am just itching to see them both but am waiting until they get home.

Gary's blood work is coming back better each time they check his kidney functioning and is just 1 number shy of the normal range now. They asked him what he wanted to drink and he said orange juice. He can drink whatever he likes now that he has a functioning kidney. He had some beef broth this afternoon and told Linda that it was delicious.:D

Things could not be going any better. :D:grouphug:

DaisyMay, I read Linda your post right after the surgery started yesterday. When I read the part about you donating your kidney in 1994, she got really excited to hear everything was going so well with you and your DS. Your experience made a huge difference in her mood since it happened 14 years ago. Thank you for that.

Becky, I am so happy to hear everything went well. I know you were worried sick over this. What a birthday gift for you and God's gift to Linda's son. God is good and will never fail us even in our most troubled times.

DM, you are just what Linda needed and thank you for sharing your story. God brought you to Becky so she could give Linda what she needed as her son was in the operating room. God bless you.

Gary is being released from the hospital Friday!!!!:D:D He is just doing great now!!!:)

Last week was very scary. Gary started rejecting the kidney and we were terrified and holding our breath and praying like crazy. The doctor's put him on all sorts of drugs and finally got it under control. They didn't expect the rejection because it was his dad's kidney but it happened.

Rod, Gary's dad, is recovering well at home and ready for his son to come home to recover completely.

Linda is absolutely exhausted from this surgery and worrying about her son and grandson. She is so happy.:) It was so great to hear the happiness in her voice tonight. She is going away for the weekend on a much deserved mini vacation.

I just wanted to share the wonderful news and thank you all so much for your good wishes and prayers.:grouphug:

That's great news, Becky!!! So happy for all concerned!!!

Glad to hear all is well, Becky! My DS showed signs of rejection while still in the hosp, but they did a kidney bx, caught it and stopped the rejection. I know how scared Linda was, as I watched my DS like a hawk. Every time he looked or acted different, I would panic.

Finally, I had to just face reality and decide that we were doing everything we were supposed to be doing, and w/continuing routine labwork, the transplant team can keep close tabs on him. I am keeping this special family in my prayers. Thank you for all the updates.
