I am glad to hear that your dad is home and doing better.

I hope your bruised knees and wrenched neck get better soon!

Thanks you guys, you're all just so sweet.

Dad continues to be okay as far as I know.

However, we had shocking news Sunday. I know cousins don't seem important, but I have 2 families of cousins who live here in town and we all grew up together from babies.

Well, when dad was in the hospital, at the same time my cousin David went to the clinic with shoulder and arm pain. They decided to run all those cardio tests (the dye, the pictures, the walking on a treadmill, etc. They decided his shoulder was stressed from his work as a mail carrier.

HOwever Friday they called him to tell him they thought they misinterpreted the tests and made an appiontment for him to go back to the clinic today. Friday night he called his sister (also my Godmother) and left a message that he wouldn't be at the college soccer game (which another cousin is a member of the team). Very unusual for him, but he said he just didn't feel well.

His wife woke up the next morning, putzed around, and went back to see why David hadn't also gotten up because that was usually their routine. Went back to the bedroom and discovered he had no pulse, so she started CPR (she's a nurse) and their son called 911.

Well, they got his heart going but put him on life support. He had no brain activity, so Saturday the family decided to take him off life support. But, Saturday night he passed on his own.

He had had a heart attack Friday night. *sigh (Hate the heart doctors at this clinic, too many bad stories.)

He was just the sweetest, kindest soul. Very shocked. Like a brother. The youngest of the cousins (older than me) had a double mastectomy last year so is facing her demons with that. Oldest died from cancer a few years ago, so now it's just Jan (my godmommy) and the youngest.

blah Funeral is thursday with family visitation tomorrow.

At least I know he's off to better things.

Love you guys and thanks again for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes.

Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and the wrong. Sometime in your life you will have been all of these.
