Default Prayers for my Son and Grandaughter

I have made a heart wrenching decision that may ruin my relationship with my son. I am going to try to get custody of my granddaughter.

I won't go into all the horrid details, but she is not safe in his and his live in girlfriends care.

I am so heart broken about this. My son is really screwing up and I cannot stand by and watch this precious baby be neglected because her parents are on a slippery slope.

He has agreed to leave her with me. (because they have no where to live) I WON"T take them or her other 2 children but agreed to take the baby. I went to an attorney today and this won't be easy.

Unless I see a rapid improvement in my son I will start custody proceedings

Please say a prayer for this little angel.....she deserves a chance at a normal life.

Dottie

how very hard for you (((Dottie)))

I pray that whatever is the best for this precious child will take place, and that God will give you the strength and ability to do whatever has to be done to keep her safe.

ps praying too that your son will put his daughter above all else and love you more for caring enough to intervene

I know this is hard, but please know that you are doing the right thing. I don't doubt that God is motivating you to protect your grand child, for her sake. He is full of grace for the struggling. My prayers are with you, and your family....

Sending prayers your way, Dottie. Your post reflects how heartbroken you are over the whole ordeal. May you find strength to do what you must to insure the safety of your grandbaby. Take care of yourself too.

UPDATE: My son FINALLY called me tonight. He asked if he could come and stay here for a while. I said "What about the baby?" He said she will be coming too.

He said he will come tomorrow. I am not going to hold my breath, but I am hoping he comes. If I have him here I can get him help. And I'll know the baby is safe.

He said he can't stay with his GF anymore, he cldn't go into detail but would explain when he sees me? I am hoping he has seen the light and has realized how bad he has screwed up. I know, probably wishful thinking on my part, But I really feel like if I can get him here I can help him. (if he is out of the denial and knows he needs help)
As long as they are together there is no hope at all.

So keep your fingers crossed that this is a start.

Thanks again for all the support.

Dottie

Lightbulb dear jade

please hold on the the very real peace from God

The prophet Isaiah wrote, "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal." (Isaiah 26:3,4.) Trusting in God means recognizing Him and giving Him His rightful place in our lives. We must also accept the agent of peace He has provided. Isaiah wrote of the Messiah who was to come:

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this."
-Isaiah 9:6,7
