Still thinking of you Taffy and your dear Dad. I hope the floods have missed your area, but if not, then prayers and good thoughts going out that you'll all get through it ok... :hug:

Hows his place doing , did he have to leave it?
I see they have closed 20 miles of I-5 due to water over the highway, and it may not open until Monday:eek: won't crest until tonite. That is the main way to go from Seattle to Portland. The mountain passes are closed as well as alternate routes due to snow, slides or flooding... The Amtrak line is shut down too - tracks run close to the freeway most of the time. |
prayers going up today Taffy....:hug::hug:

Oh man....
Can you spell STRESS EAT? I can't stop! Once again I have been blessed and am high and dry! My dad...we are so lucky this time...was spared! We had picked up all of the furniture in his house. We left nothing there. He and his dog went to a safe motel! I had a great site for river status. We have three rivers to follow! Then, decided it was time to pull the plug. Thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers. They worked! The had been reporting record floods on all rivers. The one closest to me was under the record. The other that feeds into it was knocking on the record's door. I was freak'n out on Wednesday as the school let out early. They had us put up all important things and papers. I am like what do they know that I don't, I live down the street, maybe I better put my junk up! So....I made sure my old photo albums are upstairs and guess what? They can stay there. I even had a emergency bag made up for the doggy! Yesterday afternoon, we had the great idea to drive around to look at the rivers. Ha! Made it over one bridge...over the hill to the other bridge...through the old town...flooding done there...(good)....the bridge going to the Steam Plant was closed. (bad) Better head home.... The main drag with all the fast food joints and I-5 are now closed! Great!Turn down the street to get back to the bridge to get back to the hill. Closed. Starting to panic. Weave around a bunch a streets to get to a main street that leads to the bridge and it is still open! Get to hill and hope that bridge is still open on other side and wonder why we had great idea to drive around! Bridge was still open and made it home! It was a long night of wait and watch ...I am so tired! I feel so bad for the north part of our town. That is the part that got it this time. Plus, there are so many towns in Washington that have or will be flooding please be thinking of them and what they will be going through the clean-up is no fun. I am so thankful my Dad was spared. He just returned eight months ago! Thanks all! |
You got it! I will be saying prayers for you, your dad and the community. I do hope you don't flood. I am glad you went over and took care of a few things for your dad just in case.

I'm so happy for your dad and you and everyone else with you. I know what a horrible mess a flood can be. I was born in the mountains, where flash-flooding as well the more normal flooding in the valleys was a pretty common thing. I'm so glad the monster passed you by. And your father is lucky to have a loving person like you to take care of him! :)

You are in my thoughts and prayers. :hug:
