Thanks again, everyone, for your concern, prayers, and warm well-wishes.

My DD, Crystal, flew in from AZ and is helping me with Dad today. Sure nice to have her around.

Waiting for the Hospice nurse to bring some better meds to make Dad more comfortable. He keeps trying to cough, but doesn't have the strength.

Prayer helps and I thank you for that.

Unhappy It's over

My dear Father doesn't have to suffer anymore. *sigh

My dear daughter and I were with him when he passed this Friday morning at 1:46 a.m. He will be sorely missed.

Many thanks to you, my dear friends, for your love and support.

My (selfish) prayer was that I wouldn't be alone when he passed. So thankful my daughter came from Phoenix to be with me (and, of course, to say goodbye to her Grandpa). DH was sleeping in the next room and is now cleaning up the bed where Dad spent the last several days of his life.

Hospice came, then the funeral director and his son. I actually know the morticians quite well and so that was less traumatic, I think.

Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers. I feel very blessed.

Oh, Ro......it's a double edged sword, isn't it? I'm so sorry that you've lost your Dad....yet I'm happy he's no longer suffering and in pain. It's a blessing, too, to know where they've gone and that, one day, you'll be with him again. You and your whole family are in my prayers as you get through the next few most difficult days. I know you're busy.....but you have my number if you need to talk. I'm always here for you.

*tkrik, shedding tears for Twink*

Twink - From the stories you have shared, your dad was an amazing man and I know you will miss him terribly. I am glad to hear that DD was with you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. My offer still stands; if you need anything give me a call. Lots and lots of cyber's to you and your family.

So sorry, Twink. It's hard but every day will get a little easier. He was a great guy and had a terrific, full life— that's something to talk about! I'll be praying for your family's comfort in the weeks and months to come as the reality really settles in.
