Dear BF,
If you are having difficulty buying food items, and need to use dollars for other things then I wonder if you have the same thing in your area as we have here now.

Many churches have set up stores for people who are experiencing difficulties financially. I actually needed to use one myself recently and I was really surprised at the generosity. I was even able to buy vegetables for just a gold coin donation. [p.s. I don't mean real gold, I mean 'gold' coloured... that's our $1 and $2 dollar coins )

I noticed that the expiry date on some of the goods was only valid for a short time, so I figure that some of the grocery chains must give the food to the charities for distribution. It really helped me that week as I had some big bills to pay and they all arrived with the postperson at the same time... as they tend to do. lol

wishing you all the best there BF. Hope things get better for you fast...
and everyone else experiencing the same difficulties.

Thank you Lara. Isn't it the truth. I sold a electric item that I owned,to pay the phone bill. I wrote the check, and put it in the envelope, and got in the car to deposit the money in the bank, and then mail the bill. At my mail box I recieved a unexpected bill.

Thank you for letting me know.

I thank everyone else for their advice. BF

Have you been to your town hall? They have a welfare officer for folks that live in town. They can start the ball rolling on help that wont be available at the state level. Also if you have a church or two in your town, swing in. You dont have to promise to be a member of their church, you just have to be willing to ask for help. We collect funds every sunday for "neighbors in need" and the pastor has discretion over that fund. She can give you cash just because, or pay the dentist for you. Most pastors have a huge big book filled with numbers of helpful people. From food stamp help to a ride back and forth to medical appointments.

Knocking on doors, locally should help get you started.

Heart

http://www.angelfoodministries.com/

This is a great service, they have food for a month for $30 and take foodstamps too. They also have fruit and veggie, chicken strips. meats.
You order by this Monday the 11th and in the next week the food is ready for pickup.

On nice thing is for people not up to making meals they are ready made and you heat. There is enough for a month. The variety is good and convient.

No income to qualify either.
I am trying it on Monday so i can get the fruit and veggies.
Oh, I have a website I use meals for under $3 ....

Strange how resourceful we can be, especially with the Internet.
