Default Suffering

A lot of people surrender in their speech and in their minds, but it is not from the heart. It seems we really cannot surrender from the heart until the Spirit changes us, and a lot of times it is after we have suffered quite a bit, maybe a great deal. Suffering does have its rewards.

"He does not compel us to go against our will--He just makes us willing to go."

Growth is painful because we usually don’t choose it for ourselves. However if you allow yourself to grow through the pain instead of just hanging out in it and feeling sorry for yourself you will one day be thankful for that which made grow.

Difficulties are what makes us strong inside. A life of comfort soothes the flesh and makes you relax lulling you to sleep. Heaven is not filled with floaters but battlers. The harder it is for us, the more beneficial the outcome. We have to view everything as coming from God, the good, the bad and the ugly because He has allowed it for a reason but we can't see that right now.

Garth Brooks sang that "God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers". I found this to be so true for the big "stuff" and the small "stuff" too.
