Lightbulb Schizophrenia is identical to Temporal-lobe Epilepsy

I'm doing this discussion so it makes members aware that these two illnesses are identical and I myself was diagnosed a Paranoid Schizophrenic at 18, after years of meds and steroid injections was then sent to a brain surgeon who did extensive tests and told me I had Temporal-lobe epilepsy as it's rare but an identical illness.

Through all the medications I took for years besides steroid injections and psychiatric hospitals, they caused me brain damage to the right side of my brain... through over balancing the hormones of the brain.

So if your ever unsure of your diagnosis, ask for that second opinion

Terry, schizophrenia and temporal lobe epilepsy are not the same thing.

Usually the clinical signs of schizophrenia first present in late adolescence (about 18 y.o.). It is very rare for a mental health professional to recommend steroid injections (which are not an Rx for schizophrenia) or any other kind of medication before a detailed clinical investigation.

I am not a mental health professional but sought the views of my partner before posting this.

She concurs and is a mental health professional - a clinical psychologist with experience of working with children and adolescents.

Hi kiwi,

I know I was treated by one of the 6 brain surgeons in the uk and he dealt with neuro problems / epilepsy and also psychiatric and I was also seen by a professor.

I was having Autism trances from the age of 15 and apparently they was caused by the temporal lobe.

Regarding me at 18 I was hearing voices and hallucinating then my GP got a psychiatric doctor to see me and the next thing I'm in hospital being put on tablets and Depixol injection every 2wks at 250mg and my weight went from 7st to 18st in no time.

kiwi would you like me to remove the post?
