Default SCS for RSD type 2?

Hi! Does anyone have info/experience with SCS and type 2 RSD? I'm wondering if there's a difference in effectiveness, risk, etc. Thanks!

I'm getting some short-term relief from pain/burning with stellate ganglion blocks. My dr is recommending scs for long-term relief. I'll get a second opinion in a week or so.

Default Hi Sukadog

Good question! Hopefully, as more people become aware of this new forum, you'll get good feedback. In the meantime, do as much research as you can and be sure to ask the doc regarding the possibility of RSD spreading.
It's a good sign that you responded to the nerve blocks, even if it was shortlived.
Check out the threads Jo*Mar posted above.
You are very smart to go for a second opinion.
I'm anxious to see what your doc has to say. Keep us informed k

CRPS I=RSDS
CRPS II=CAUSALGIA

i have crps2 and scs did not work for me.

on another post you said you were stage one so that means its early and maybe you have a better shot at it than me.

i saw somewhere that stage1 means it was caught/diagnosed in first 3 months and start agressive therapy have 100% chance of cure.

stage2 caught/dignosed in first 6 months and start agressive therepy have 50% chance of cure.

stage 3 and 4 have no cure and its agressive so plan on getting much worse.(this was my catagory)

if you are truly stage 1, then you need 8 to 10 hours of therapy a day 7 days a week or you can end up in a different stage........(at least that is what i read)

Hi! I'm sorry yours got to that stage. Has anything worked for you? Dr. says I'm stage 1 based on symptoms, bone scans, thermo, etc. What kind of therapy are you thinking of? Thanks
