Smile 11 December

God answers another one, we have a new address in the city of Arvada. Going up to meet, greet, the owners, measure this and that, sign lease, give deposit. At least we know we will have a place to be although they will not be able to let us in until 29 December, Brrrrr.

Now as for that job.... still prayin......

Stim working just fine, peachy, doing its thing and I continue to be grateful. Our daughter, Em, is home for Christmas from college. Life is good.

Be well all of you and Merry Christmas! [I am not too much into political correctness, sorry Ms. Pelosi ]

Heart Thank you Tara and Jerry

That is what it is all about community. Prayer for one another. Holding one another up before the Lord and asking for intervention. I am doing it for you and for Jerry as he supports you, what a trooper he is, keeping us informed as you went through the valley of the shadow.

You will improve bit by bit, and your doctor has prescribed the pain meds as they want them used to help manage the pain. I have always been advised "stay ahead of the pain, because if you let it take its grip, it is harder to bring under control." You are so recent a surgery patient, I would listen to doc, despite Mom's good intentions.

Maybe, just maybe with your new Zipper, you will become like PJ and me, able to manage pain completely with the stim and wean completely off of pain meds. I had a terrific job interview yesterday. It may lead to something, the District Manager and I hit it off. He asked me what I would like to ultimately be and, well, of course, I told him "your boss." We had a laugh, but in all seriousness, I am recharged and ready for challenge. He took that as a great sign. We will talk more next week. I have an interview with a lawfirm next week here in Denver, and hope I am in the running for the prosecutor job at City of Lakewood, it would be good experience. For your prayers I am grateful.

We will get there. I am beyond the terrible lows of the depression and anxiety which were driving me to a brink. Cleo is so happy because I have returned to being.... well.... "ME!" Thank you, God for all of the prayer and support.

Praying for you,
Mark56 and PJ

Heart 12 December

Humbled at this time of year during this season of Advent. We have prayer on Sunday evenings in our church during this particular season, and it brings so much to the surface.... the anguish so many of you my brothers and sisters are enduring, the difficulties so many face, and I lifted you up in that special place this evening. Prayer, what a wonderful connection just to be able to converse with God.

Thankful my stim is still working as it is supposed to act,
Thankful we now have a place to move- signed a lease last night,
Thankful that in time the right place for employment will be revealed to me,
Thankful for the love of my family and all of you and other friends,
Thankful for the true reason of celebrating Christmas during this Christ season,
I feel blessed,
Mark56

Heart 14 December

Still working on the job front, taking all prayers on that particular. At least we have a home into which we may move on the 29th. Hired a local company to do the heavy lifting and then, lo and behold, our church said "We are going to pay for it!" What a blessing!

Thinking of all of you at Christmastime, hoping that you find relief from pain, from aches, from concerns which keep you up at night and that you can feel blessed. I know I do with my PJ stim unit. What a gift.

Praying for all,
Mark56

Heart Dear Irljenn

Jenna-

There is no measuring device of which I am aware by which anyone can judge how much of a Christian one may be. If you feel moved by Christ, then you are there. Your prayers and those of your daughter are precious to me.

Your name is pretty cool! Mine, PJ is a simplification of Praise Jesus, hence PJ, because it is well known I have a faith that sustains me and I hope many around me. I am praying for you that your next surgery in these coming hours goes well, that the surgeon's hands are guided to do exactly what must be done and in the way to restore health to you, that your recovery will go very well, and that you may be restored to life such as you may have known it before debilitating pain. I know my Boston Sci unit and its installation gave me delivery from pain so that I could withdraw completely from all of the pain numbing opiates which were prescribed for me. For this reason, I am able to think more clearly and have earnestly been attempting to return to the practice of law, which is my prior career.

Just in case it may help you, I will share a Psalm I wrote in the many months leading up to my surgery back in 2009, my surgery was June 30, 2010. Here you go:

Psalm IV
MRidder 20090426

Oh God, you come alongside in my anguish.
You bear me up in my agony.
You Bring comfort in dark hours when comfort escapes me.
You provide sustaining nourishment.,
both to this body and my soul.
My God, your words wash over me as a refreshing Spring mist.
Clearly, you open my eyes to see The Way, a way known first by you,
provided freely to all.
You, oh Lord, are the anchor to my spirit, holding fast lest I be dashed upon the reef.
You draw me ever closer to you, that you might whisper sweet words to my ear; words meant for me.
You fill me with encouragement that I might not falter.
You, dear Savior, gave up sovereignty that you might suffer extreme indignity, anguish, and yes, even death so one such as I, a lamb, trembling in the thicket would feel surrounded by your strong hands lifting me gracefully into the all encompassing warmth, solace, security, and eternal blessing of your gift of salvation.
Yes, you my Lord, my Savior, my Redeemer and God have brought me to oneness with you.
You are the strength bearing me through each unbearable moment.
Your caresses comfort me at each shiver of pain.
You, oh God, bring me into the fold, that I not be lost to the beasts circling ever hungrily seeking the weakened to consume.
My eyes are open to your grandeur, the works both physical and spiritual laid in spectacular witness to your glory.
I am humbled at your singular touch, gently laid upon one such as I.

Heart 15 December---Now I understand

Malachi 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God ...

One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to thegroup at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: ' He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'

She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?'

He smiled at her and answered, ' Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.'

Now, I am beginning to understand, really beginning to understand. Merry Christmas to all,
Mark56 and Cleo
