Smile Physical Therapy Post Op- Torture by Choice

So.... this friend of mine, Fiona, says "how about starting a Physical Therapy thread?" or words to that effect. I am now just over 6 weeks post op. Single SCS application in a Bionic Butt method for a T8 insertion of paddles to manage that @#$^%&*###@@ pain which bound me up for years after a car wreck and surgeries too numerous to mention here. Leave it to say I have been in my physical therapy office some 80 plus times over the years. Now here we go again.

My therapist, his name is Emery, is a wonderful guy for a friend. He even hired our daughter to babysit when she was of the age and desire for funds to do that kind of work. Alas she is now at college. Sniff sniff.

Anyway Emery styles himself as a torturer, one who puts post op people, of which I have now returned AGAIN, through paces he calls TORTURE to bring us back up to a level of strength so our bodies can handle the stuff we do in everyday life, kinda like Rae and her penchant for falling off horses [just kidding Rae].

I begin tomorrow. First new post op session for me. There will be an eval to see and OOOO and AHHHH over the new scars. I will be given some water therapy exercise to perform ever so slightly at first so as not to overdo, and there will also be at least a bit of dry land, like the dreaded pneumatic core press to demonstrate and build on core strength of deep, I mean DEEP, abdominal muscles. But then that is just a peek. Tomorrow, more will follow!

Ta, ta, for now,
Off to the boat, I hope,
