Unhappy Off topic: drunk driving

Hey guys. I know this is off topic, and that there is another forum that I could post a prayer request. I hope you don't mind that I am posting this here, but I just feel more comfortable posting this where I know people and feel support. I'm not really asking for any responses, but would greatly appreciate your prayers. I'm going to post what I wrote in my CaringBridge.

"How sad. A friend of mine, Megan, died yesterday in a car accident. She has a husband and a little boy, Lane, who is not even a year old. If he was 3 or 5...at least he would somewhat understand what happened (though it would still be very hard for him...) but he isn't even a year old... he won't be able to understand for a few years why his mommy never came home to him. How sad. She was killed by a drunk driver. I don't have an issue if people want to drink, as long as they aren't stupid about it. When it becomes an addiction and a problem, that's when it is no longer okay. It is also no longer okay if you decide to get behind the wheel and drive after you've had more than one drink. Better safe than sorry, and even one drink can impair you more than you realize. As mean as it sounds, I wish that everyone who drives drunk would get pulled over and have to deal with the consequences. Those who do it and don't get caught get off way too easy. They continue to do it again and again and someday will hurt or kill someone because of their actions. There is absolutely nothing important enough to justify getting in a car after drinking. Even if you are dying--call an ambulance. In the end, it is just going to cause a whole lot of hurt for someone's family for a lifetime just because of one bad decision. I feel so bad for Megan's family--especially her husband Justin and her son Lane. They will forever be without a wife and mom because of someone's bad decision. Justin and Megan have known each other their whole lives--they have pictures of them as babies together--they went to the same daycare. Love is love even if two people meet a few years before they marry--but Megan and Justin truly were lifetime friends and soul mates. Such a sad story. Please please pray for them all. <3 Drunk driving kills--don't do it."

Please pray for Justin and their 10 month old son Lane. Thanks.

Heart ((((Sarah))))

I'm so very sorry to hear this!
You've lost a friend in a tragic way. Our prayers are with you as well. It's never easy to lose a friend.....but to have one taken in this manner is unbearable.

You've absolutely got my prayers!
Nothing is ever 'off topic' when it comes to our family here and the pain we see. By sharing this with us, you not only get the best support and prayers we can offer, but you also provide an eye-opener to us all.

It's a terribly sad thing and I'm so sorry to hear of this
Thanks for thinking of us in your prayer request, Sarah....

Unhappy That is so awful

SarahMae, I am so very sorry that this tragedy happened and that you lost your friend. I am also sorry for that little boy losing his mother, and her husband losing his wife. I do not understand why these horrible things have to keep happening to good people, I hate hearing about people being killed because of drunk driving, because it always could have been prevented! I will also pray for you and their family!
