Well, I've had the stim on all day today. Not turned up too high as I still have sore incision sites (didn't realise they head to open all three again!) and I don't want to put pressure on my hopes for the stim .. but ... at this moment in time it is feeling like a nice massage, with some sciatic pain.

I was given waterproof dressings and was allowed to shower, yes SHOWER, AND wash my hair, 2 days post op and all is looking good.

Taking it easy and letting by body rest and wake when it needs to.

At the moment am sat downstairs at the PC whilst Mike is digging in the garden. He's got the whole of next week off and plans to do some decorating and gardening.

I get my stitches out 14 days post op, only because they had to re open already cut areas.

The physio from the Hospital is speaking to my Doctor on Tuesday at 12.30 regarding a light weigh self propelled wheelchair for my use and I need to sort a splint for my Drop Foot. (I now have a name for my dodgy left foot).

Have ordered myself some snazzy new crutches as I have been told not to use just the one as it is displacing my body and I have less strength on my left hand side. The usual NHS (Free) ones are very basic and have hard handles, so I've decided to invest in some comfier ones.

I'm going to do my Blog Post on my op today or tomorrow .. so will paste onto here when done.

Love to all x x x x

Much Love to you Karen from ALL

You beautiful soul you, it is good to have your words on here in a positive vein, and Dodgy, that sounds so.... well... yeah cool. Dodgy Foot, so it is. Let us know what wheelchair make you get so I can investigate it, as I could do well with a replacement chair myself.

You take care there and be kind to Saffy as well.... then maybe you might get to take a spin in Tootle.... I mean with all of these names, yours, your pen name, your foot name, your car name, did you ever name your stim? Don't be telling anyone like Fiona, or they will wonder about all of these pseudonyms by which you go.....:D:D:D:D:D

Glad Hubby is at home with you for a week. Now perhaps you can re-sume enjoying time with one another though you are recuperative, pain should be less.

Thilled am I for you,
God bless you all,
Mark56, still prayin, :grouphug:

New Start!

Yes! I see this as a new start for you, Karen....
in so many ways...

By golly, you SPLURGE on yourself and get top-of-the-line crutches and wheels! Send us a pic of your snazzy crutches :D I can only imagine the extra 'Bling' you'll be adding to them!

Rest, recoup, and take it easy on yourself....Mike will do the pampering....and of course you have all of us lingering around your thread to see how you are getting along!

I have a real good feeling about all of this!

Rae

Haha .. Just call me Karen. That's the real me .. Saffy is a name I used when working promoting a record label.

Am feeling so positive now. I know that this is the end of the road surgery wise, and that whatever limits I have I will have to make the best of them ... Whereas before, I was so disappointed with my stim that I was quite thoroughly miserable at times.

Now I see a future of managing my pain .. The wheelchair I used in hospital was a revelation ... I cried with gratitude. To be able to go a whole way without having to stop through pain. Why had I never thought of it before.

My mum has an electric mobility scooter that she is loaning me for these first few weeks so that I can get out and about putting strain on my stitches and leads which I would do using crutches.

Will definitely send you all a pic when I get that. TOOTLE TWO I shall nickname it.

My battery is FELIX by the way ... Named after my first rabbit.

Love you all. Sending hugs across the world to my dear friends on here.

Gnashing of teeth! Despite the Hospital writing a letter to my Doctor and telling them that my stitches needed removing today ... I waited in all day and ... nothing! Have just rung up and they know "nothing about it" .. obviously.

The incisions on my tummy and sides are fine but the one on my back is so sore that I can't sit back on anything and let anything touch it. It's red and oozing and I cannot believe I have got to go to Hospital tomorrow with these stitches in .. and with it being a gynae appointment, I'm going to be lay on my back for examination.

So cross .. it's really made me feel down .. know it shouldn't ... but everything was going so well ... and I waited in ALL day today for this flippin Nurse.

Rant over ! x

Stitches out

Hi Karen,
You poor thing, can your own doctor not remove your stitches? It's awful when they start to feel tight and you know it's time for them to come out and I can't believe there isnt an appointment made for them to come out, what do they expect them to do, pull themselves out!

So plse tell me how are you feeling after your surgery? Did they put in a new Stim or revise the previous one?

I hope you get your stitches out soon so you can feel better and good luck with he gnae appointment, nothing worse huh?!

Chat soon and take care

Sinéad :):hug::hug::hug:

Dear Karen

Learning of your oozing red closure in the back which is painful makes me pause to wonder whether you may have infection...... I did, and the ooze was not red blood but this awful pus of a different color, hence the high dose of antibiotics thereafter!! I wonder openly with Sinéad [dear lady- hoping she is well] whether your doc can give a look and send you to ER if necessary to have that oozing looked after!! Absolutely!

Much not to be overlooked about this!
No way,
Prayin,
Mark56:hug:

Those stitches

Hi Karen,

How are things, did you get your stitches out yet? Perhaps Mark is right, if there is an infection there you seriously need to get it checked and I wouldn't be waiting, some infections can make you very, very sick.

I hope things have improved and you are feeling better. I'm doing okay for the last few days, my sciatica is still acting up but it's been worse.

Take care hun,

Sinéad xxx :hug::hug::hug:

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as Mark and Sinéad...I hope you got someone to look at them. Although, when I had my hysterectomy, my incision did that, but they said it wasn't an infection. Just the same, it's something they should be paying attention to.
