Exclamation Wow!!!

I started my trial yesterday and all I can say is WOW! I can't believe it is real, I honestly thought the pain would never end and that this is how my life would be forever. I will be sad for the trial to stop but will have this glimmer of hope to hold onto while I wait to get my perm. unit. I have a Medtronic and the rep was awesome! the procedure took a long time because the doctor kept hitting scar tissue or hardware. he eventually decided to approach my cord from the "top" with access between my shoulder blades and threaded down because everything below my injury site was gunked up with scar issue. The moment h was in thr right spot I knew that my life would change. I have some irritation from the tape and I itch all over but other than that I could not be happier! we are expecting a lot of snow this evening and into tomorrow but I plan to go for a walk anyway!!!

Happy to hear your trial is going well!! I have a MedTronic, and I will say that the reps here in Mid-Michigan are great and very caring and understanding. I have not been the "text book" patient, but they are very attentive and helpful to date. Good luck and enjoy your glimmer of hope!!

My trial worked great for the wk. I had it too but I was REALLY irritated from the tape too. I have a latex allergy and it seems the tape they used had latex in the adhesive. I am going in on Tues (3/1) to have the permanent scs implanted. Medtronics.
BTW; I am mom of twins also. They will be 16 in 3 wks and another son that will be 18 in one wk. good luck..hope you can get the perm one soon.

Hi! I am still doing great with my stim. I spoke tothe rep today and to my doctor and we have scheduled an appointment with the neurosurgeon for 3/14 though the doctor did tell me that it could take as long as 6-8 weeks to get the permanent as they want to be sure that my back is healed from all the attempts he had to make for the trial. My insurance has already approved the permanent one so that is one hurdle we are already through! Now I am trying to brace myself for what it will be like on Wednesday when they take the trial stim away from me. I have been off all pain meds for 11 months though I am pretty sure that I will need some when the stim is gone because i think it might be a little overwhelming going from no pain back to all that pain. I just need to stay focused on that light at the end of the tunel, it is really there this time!!! Thank you all sooooo much!!!

WOW! twins! everywhere!!! my boys are only 3 years old and I hope to be able to run and jump and play with them as I feel like I have missed out on so much having to sit and watch.

Hope everyone is great! thanks for all the support and encouragement!
