I will hopefully be back home by 11 . Keep me in your thoughts for tommarows trial.. Thank you. jan |
KC?
Wow, that country is just crawling with extended family of mine. Anyway, I am sending up prayers that your trial so quickly arranged and now upon you goes well and that you learn whether the device is right for you...... I even venture as far as to hope for you that your Trial brings to you what it brought to me, a light at the end of the tunnel which was not a train headed my way!:) Right away, I knew the pain was being managed by the device and I wanted that permanent so badly.
Praying for you, Mark56:hug:Z |
In my thoughts Jan .. Hope all is well x x

Thinkin of you Jan!
You are on my mind! I hope and pray that things are going well and that you are feeling good about everything....
Just take it real easy this first day, as you'll no doubt be a bit sore..... but hopefully you are already getting an idea as to whether this is right for you! Anxious for an update when you are up for it! We're all pullin for ya!! Rae :grouphug::hug: |
Trial done!
Well, Thank God it is all over!! I was so nervous but 2 reps were there explaining everything. They tryed to I.V. in 6 times, but the vein kept rolling. The nurse said i should have been told to drink alot of water the day before to help the veins. I didn't know that, I drank pop all day! Dr. gave me some gas to knock me out to insert the iv.
I was woke up for them to adjust the leads, which caused awful back spasms. After i got out of the e.r. the rep was there to fine tune the program. I am very impressed with this machine!! They tended to turn it up extremelly high when they were doing it, but alls good now. Sent home to go walk around walmart for a hour waiting for the norco to get filled. Very sore right now & hurts my arms to type, but its in. At least till next Monday when i get it taken out. I can feel already I want the permanant one. Going to lay down.. Thank you for your concern. Oh the unit was Boston Scientific if that means any thing ... doesnt to me.. lol :):):) Jan jan |
Thrilled for you Jan!!
Oh yes indeed, LOTS of water before you go in for a procedure, that is up until the STOP ALL INTAKE time before any surgery. It plumps up the veins and helps loads for insertion of the I.V. Another biggie is NO ASPIRIN for two weeks before a surgery.
I think Rae told you to anticipate some soreness for the first day or two, but THEN you should really be able to discern the working of the device! They probably suggested you try out the programs they input to the device and running the signal up and down, anyway, my rep was very positive about such a tryout to give it a good go. My device is Boston Scientific, so we should have the same remote control and charging unit. They may have fully charged the unit to begin with so you may not have to recharge during your Trial. If you do have to recharge, it is a snap with the little recharge unit. No wires or stuff to bother with, just press the center button on the recharger and it will start beeping. Place it OVER the SCS unit [the Brains which are probably strapped to your waist with a velcro belt] and it will stop beeping. Keep it in place for about 45 minutes and voila, you are recharged. Probably, you have been asked to do some walking, but be VERY careful about the BLST rule- yeah, BLAST! Cool, I had not thought of it that way before, NO BENDING, NO LIFTING, NO STRETCHING ARMS ABOVE YOUR HEAD, and NO TWISTING. This will become a semi-permanent rule for you until you scar in after a full implant if that is your lot. BLAST! Have a GOOD Trial! Prayin, Mark56:):hug:Z |
(((BLAST))) it IS!!
I love that Mark! :p
Jan, how excited I am to hear this is going well!......despite a few bumps in the road during the procedure You'll surely be happy with the Boston Sci! Play around with the settings......give it a good go! It indeed feels 'strange' having the wires coming out of you, but just take it easy and don't get 'snagged' on anything! .....hey! you'll be surprised how those DOORKNOBS and whatnot can jump right out at you! I'm glad you get to keep it over the weekend, so you don't feel rushed. So far this sounds absolutely GREAT! Rae :grouphug::hug: |
I have actually been a little scared to turn it on at all t oday, since i am so sore from the procedure. I will tommarrow. I need to get over the initial bump before my trial runs out.
Thanks for the BLAST, eventho i have already did 4/5. Goodnight.. Mr ambien kicking in. jan:hug: |
Jan .. so pleased you are sorted and that it looks like this is going to help you.
I'm still waiting to hear about my trial . .. but at the bginning of the year, his secretary looked at the list and said it would probably be April, early May .. so not long now. With me, I think they are going to keep me in whilst they do the trial .. they do that on a Wednesday and if I get relief they will implant on the Friday. |
Counting down the days Saffy!
