Lightbulb SCS to help someone walk again - amazing stuff!

Hi guys

Have a read of this I just saw on the news, it's so fantastic what spinal chord stimulation can do for those unfortunate enough to be completely wheelchair bound. The SCS is truly life changing and it's great to see science catching up.

I actually meant to say there is always hope! There is no if or buts about that, without hope we wouldn't be able to get through those tough stinky painful days!

Nighty night Jenna and all those still awake, xxx

Smile Terrific News

So, electrodes are capable of assisting in overcoming pain and paralysis. This is terrific news. I use my treadmill although numb below the knees, by holding onto the handles, similar in effect to the paralysed fellow, this due to lack of proprioception below the knees [the reason I use a cane to freely ambulate]. Perhaps the subject will eventually graduate to a cane and then who knows the limit? I tend to be stuck with the cane due to a tendency toward loss of balance otherwise.

What great news for medical strides in overcoming such a limitation. Many are limited in that way, and the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation deserve kudos for continuing work in restorative function. An uncle of mine long since deceased, would have possibly been a candidate as one who was paralysed from the chest down due to a gunshot wound to the spine. Just imagine the possibilities!

Good Post!
