Default My teaching on living with severe, chronic pain

Just added my latest chapter to my teaching on "Living with Severe, Chronic Pain". You can view it here:http://fionab-lessonslearnedfromlife...onic-pain.html

Hope you find it helpful. You guys have been so supportive and encouraging that I can't help but feel that you've been part of my inspiration behind doing this topic on my blog. Hopefully others will come across it and learn not only about living with chronic pain, but also the pain relief they can find through these wonderful Spinal Cord Stimulators, and other such technologies that are out there. Knowledge is powerful, and encouraging to those who are struggling!

Thanks everyone

Fiona

Heart Great reading Fiona

Hi Fiona

I have just finished reading through your blog. How fantastic it is. You know if I was someone who has literally just come onto the web in search of information ,advice, help inspiration etc your blog is definitely the place to find it.

It's so easy to understand and gives us such a great insight into what we can expect and what help is out there. Wonderful. Well done. Keep it up now and I will certainly take a lot from it too.

I hope you are feeling somewhat better and not in too much pain

Jackie

Thanks, Jackie. So glad you enjoyed my blog. My goal is to pass on information in an easy to understand style which would help others...ok, so I do have a little fun doing it, too I especially like the main blog section where I get to post funny photos, etc.

Default Have added to "Lliving with Severe, Chronic pain"

It's a handout that I've had for some time (forget even where I got it) that helps others to understand what it's like to live with chronic pain. Feel free to copy it or just use it to help your family/friends get a better understanding of what it's like to live in the world of "chronic pain".

Default What an eyeopener!

Fiona I have just read your letter on your blog and what an eyeopener that is to anyone who DOESNT understand what we have to put up with day in day out.!

Amazing how we all hear the same things.........eg...just get on with it, try harder, you look well etc etc etc and what is amazing is that in the letter there are things in there that I probably wouldnt dream of saying to someone face to face, but wouldnt actually mind handing them this letter and say that this is similiar if not the same as to how I feel.

It definitely hits the nail on the head so to speak. Im sure a 'lay' person (someone NOT suffering from Chronic Pain) would understand us so much better if they took the time to read this fantastic letter. I urge anyone who might be in a position that they are now frustrated trying to cope with family and friends who just DONT UNDERSTAND their pain to hand them a copy and then see what their reaction will be to you in the future.....

Certainly worth a shot..Well done Fiona and thank you

Jackie

Glad some of you are finding this teaching helpful. I figured if I'm stuck here at home and can at least sit at my computer for a while, then I might as well make myself useful somehow and do something with all this stuff I have in my head!

I know that if it wasn't for forums like this, and the Internet in general, I wouldn't be where I am today...where, believe it or not, is a better place than I was several years ago. I believe strongly that knowledge is key to our getting better, and like many here on this forum, want to pass on what I know to help others so that they may not have to go through what we all have.

Thanks for all your support with my blog. Makes me weepy thinking about how you all have supported me in this endeavor. It's helped me keep my sanity, and it's good to feel like I still have something worthwhile to contribute to the world and those in need

Heart Doing Well

You are doing well with your Blog, my friend! Very Well, reminds me of another counsellor friend of mine who pours herself into such means of aiding others although she is NOT one who has suffered IP as you; thus, you intorduce a fresh topical approach many will seek.

Glad you are reaching out, glad indeed,
Mark56
