Hi guys, hope you are all doing ok, sorry I have been missing for a couple of months, I will catch up reading all your threads.
I'm really struggling and having to re think my future. I have been trying to study to be a radiographer, it's something I have always wanted to do, I have been struggling my way along the course for almost 2 years but have finally come to the end of being able to struggle and I just can't do it anymore, the pain is just too much. Maybe I was silly trying to do the course as on placement I have been going through hell to try and get through each day. The last week has been the end of the radio for me and I just can't do it any longer. I feel like a failure and feel I have let a lot of people down. My boyfriend and family are very supportive but I'm so worried as I now have no job and not sure what to do. I'm annoyed I haven't been able to get through it but my foot pain is just getting worse and worse.
I was hoping the spinal cord stimulator was going to help but when I am working in the hospital I have to have it turned down so it's almost not on at all. Also in the last week the unit has moved again across my back which is causing discomfort and disrupting the stimulation as well.
I'm really disappointed as I feel like I have failed. It's just causing me so much more pain I can no longer deal with it and do it.
Apologies for such a negative post just had to get it of my chest, and I know that you all will understand more than most people.
Thanks for listening,
Rachel xx :( :(

To lean on Eva is something priceless. She too, as most of us here, have
needed each other. There is nothing negative here.....only people in pain.
We are comrades and care about one another and care deeply and want to be there for one another.

Rachel....

I am so sorry to hear this :( My heart truly sank.
Everyone here always seem to have the right thing to say when we are down and out. We're always here to pick each other up and strengthen one another. It's good to share your sadness. This is the time when we pull together and realize we are not alone in our struggles.
Like Ginnie said, this is NOT the end-all. Rather, this is the time to believe that there is something right around the corner for us. Something that we probably would never have thought possible.

I too am looking at a crossroad ahead of me. My 30 year 'career' in business office management will be coming to an end sometime later this year. I have no idea what I'm to do. I'm still 20 yrs from retirement age. This is all I've ever known and now I too will be at the drawing board.
I have my moments of doubt and anxiety about my future, but I try real hard to focus on the fact that things are constantly changing, especially in this technological age we live in. Perhaps the medical trend will reveal miraculous opportunities for newer and better pain management. We won't 'have' to live this way!
Please don't give up on your dream. Don't close the door completely on it and don't burn any bridges. We may be pleasantly surpised what is in store for us.

I feel your pain. Let's hang on to hope tho, ok?

Rrae, So much work is now being done at home. Computers have made this possible. Hope you can find something that will allow you that possibility. As you say, which is true not only with the medical industry; but the work industry as well; opportunities opening in many areas.

Let's all hang in there.....Faith, Hope, and of course Charity/love is the way to accomplish all.

I was encouraged to read this

I just don't know 'where' to start! There are so many scams out there and I'm beginning to believe there is more crime online than there is in person these days!
If you have any ideas where to look or can point me to a credible website to search for opportunities, I'd sure appreciate it :o

Even just your words of encouragment really do make a difference.

Thanks,
Rae

Do you have any possiblity of getting into the consulting field? Not sure where exact place to look. I do know there are people that have consultants work for them. Many can work at home, but often have to, every now and then, come in to an office or some place of business.

My son works in the computer industry; but has worked, for many years with a guy that hires people to be consultants. He does much of his work at home because you can get access to a company's business on your computer (of course with their okay). I would think Temporary Agencies may have these type of businesses looking for some individuals working for them out of their home.

From what I see here..... you have a brilliant mind full of ideas. Just need to put them to work.

Hopeful,

Gerry
