Default Travelling ..

Yus .. it's me again, forever on about HOLIDAYS! As some of you know, I am due to have a laminectomy and paddle lead fitted sometime supposedly this month, but as I haven't heard anything yet, it could be next month.

I was considering going to the Maldives next year for a 2 week break as it's my dream destination and Mum has given all her children a little lump of money to spend on the dream holiday of our choosing.

The only thing is ... it's a 10 and a half hour flight .. with probably another 40 minute sea plane flight. Yes, we could do two centre, but that would work out more expensive and, well to be honest, can't afford it.

We (or I .. Mike has no choice ... lol) were thyinking of going in March. Would I be recovered enough I wonder, to sit on a plane for that amount of time. Even being able to get up and walk up and down the plane is a bit iffy as, let's face it, no one likes to do that really as everyone looks at you as though you are the in flight entertainment.

Am I being unrealistic? Please be honest. We both love Greece and perhaps a two week fly and drive around the Greek islands may be better ...

Advice appreciated and taken into consideration.

Heart Oh how wonderful!

How fantastic that Mum did this for you! What a perfect thing to do, especially with all you've been thru lately.

I would surely think this 4-5 month interim would be plenty time to recoup from the surgery. I'll come there and twist your Dr's arm and MAKE him let you!

I reckon your body will have the final sayso. We all know you to be pretty darn tuff, so I bet you've nothing to worry about

You GO, Girl!!

Thumbs up Let's Make a Deal......

That used to be the name of a Telly game show when I was much much younger and this fellow, Monte Hall, would have a contestant choose Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3 for the hidden prize they might win. So, Saffy, all of the doors are open in your case, and you have this wondrous opportunity at the Maldives....... ENJOY!!! You, and Mike as well [then the rest of us will squeeze into your luggage], I'll bet PoohAC would squeeze in there with us all...... imagine the comedy on the other end...... SPROING [right Rae and Joan, a non-word word] we all just pop out on the other end!

My vote [oh, wait a minute, this is your trip, I don't get one] is
GO! Even if you must flap your wings!!! Rae can supply them from some flamingoes if you need.

Saff--ee, Saff--ee, Saff--ee

Wink Travel

Friday I leave for two weeks in Hawaii. It's a five hour flight for me and my hubby. Sitting for long periods is still difficult so I'll probably be moving around some. I am 9 weeks post op. I'll let you know how the travel goes. I'm worried about going through the airport and scanners but have heard not to worry. Getting away is good for the spirit and for marriages challenged by one with chronic pain. I am so looking forward to time with my hubby and hopefully less pain.
Hoping everyone finds some relief and happiness in the days ahead.
Sandy

Ooh sandy have a lovely time. I flew a 4 hour flight two weeks after my stim was fitted and it was ok .. Apart from a large bruise appearing on my coccyx ??? Not sure about the 11 hour one to the Maldives but hey, you gotta suffer for paradise.

Enjoy!

I had no probs at airport .. Went through scanner ok but turned stim off.
