Thank you Rrae! That pic is too cute! And Yellow, I pray you are doing great after your first couple of weeks. Thank you again Mark for the prayers - I know there are many prayers going up for me today. It helps to know people care enough to do that for another.
I'm down for the count for a few days, so I have the laptop up and running now. Makes it easier to stay down. I have a hard time staying still. (hard to explain), but I get up and down when I'm sick or having a bad day. Ha - all I remember was some smelly air coming into my mask, and asking who choose the music (Bad to the Bone - George Throgood), and that was it. Thinking back - glad he knocked me out, since I really didn't care for having the leads put in during the trial. Talk to everyone soon! Blessings ![]() |

It was almost gory, funny, slapstick, interesting, omigoodness...... I was in one of the surgeries.... so many I can't remember exactly which one, but it was the third on my right arm because the nerve was dying and my physiatrist was afraid I would lose the arm..... So, there I am for the one of the rare surgeries in which I was twilight awake..... maybe even more than that because a nerve block had been done from my shoulder down.
A tidy little screen was erected to keep patient out of the field of view of the procedure..... I was joking with the surgeon and his assistants.... maybe like you, Rae. Before you know it I am being asked whether I would like to see what was going on. My reply, "well, I might learn something!" So, down came the screen, there is this all yellowish looking appendage on which doc is operating....... took a while for it to sink in.... hey that is my arm. I mean, it was dead to me, not a twinge not a twitch. So, there I am looking at this yellowish THING and doc begins to explain the excision of a portion of the fat from my palm was being removed.... there it went. my how strange it looked, kinda like butter only more wobbly like jello. He said he was going to place the fat in an area so as to inhibit impingement of the nerve in a particular area since his opinion was THIS was the guilty culprit, the cause of all pain, loss of sensation, loss of control and more going on in my right arm. Third time around is the charm, right? So, the fat is emplaced, I am told I will never miss it whence it came, then they go for closure. It truly produces interesting thoughts when one watches their arm being sutured clear into the center of the palm. The joke was, now that I had such experience, maybe if I needed it again, I could participate. Don't think I would go for the self surgery thing.... self setting the program of my SCS, yeah, in a heartbeat, but no, leave the scalpel driving to the artists of medicine. Ok, show and tell over for now, Bye bye, Mark56 ![]() |
