Default Have a new teaching posted

Today's teaching is on how uncontrolled pain can cause other health problems in our bodies.

It also has some tips on how to better communicate your pain and the problems it's causing you to your doctor.

You can find it at my blog, under today's date, February 24 at: http://fionab-lessonslearnedfromlife...in-part-2.html

Default New teaching on different pain medications available

You can find it under today's date, March 6 at:

http://fionab-lessonslearnedfromlife...in-part-2.html

Hope you find informative and helpful. Wish I had had this information when I was starting my journey to pain relief many years ago...would have saved me a lot of painful days, as well as aggravating and useless doctor appointments, that's for sure!

Default Added new topic to my blog..

It's called "Living with Chronic Illness", now that I've finished my series on Living with Severe, Chronic Pain. They are very much inter-related as many of us have to use the SCS's to deal with our pain which is disease-related. Hope you enjoy this new section of my blog! You can find it at: http://fionab-lessonslearnedfromlife...c-illness.html

Thanks, Mark. The Lord continues to allow me to encourage others and share some joy (and the occasional wacky humor ) even though this body wants to give me trouble. The key, I'm finding, is to pace myself and accept the days I cannot do what I want and to focus on those things I can still do. I've actually been contemplating The Dragon myself for those day I find it hard to sit at computer.

You know, I would much rather have a reprieve from pain for the rest of my life than winning that huge lottery that was the big deal a week or two ago.

Growing up as a kid I could never understand why the "old folks" in my family were always talking about their ailments and I did not heed their warnings to take care of this precious body the Lord has given us. Youth is definitely wasted on the young

Heart Ah, BUT

It is that very gift of youth to the young which allows through the impetuous the compilation of experience ultimately dawning as wisdom. It seems wisdom is a trait borne of experience rather than the teaching. There are some of the rare who take and receive SOME bit of wisdom from elders as their experience compiling, hastening wisdom. I see this in our youngest, our daughter, who now works with me, and in tiny steps she experiences something, we compare notes and it dawns on her face the situation hearkened to some wedge of wisdom I attempted to share with her.

She internalizes, learns, and realizes the leap forward. She is becoming "wise beyond her years." Some are willing. Others are not. I think instead youth is the foundation of wisdom. Now, if we are able to help them to put aside only fractions of their time to achieve slivers of wisdom without stifiling their creativity, for there is a huge amount of creativity in youth with their brains unmuddled by cynicism........ then, a younger person can be birthed who is able to internalize lessons learned before more swiftly and retain the youthful spontaneous creativity.

I, for one, kept a diary of inventions my brain would pour out over the years.... undercapitalized, due to youth, I could not bring them all to reality, but some have made it. Another, and greatest insight from God waits in the wings, for it is the wisdom of age which makes me respected and believable so as to take God's inspiration forward. It was difficult for me over decades to see things like a large department store chain introduce a tool I had designed with the concept of function, detail, drawings then fifteen years later it would be a mastercraft widget, this one a flexible ratchet extension for hard to reach places.

So, I don't necessarily believe youth is wasted on the young, but see it as the foundation of possibilities if the youthful mind is willing, as with our daughter. The miracle of the dawning is wondrous to behold.

Yup,
Mark56

I'm happy for you that you have such a daughter. Unfortunately I was one of those headstrong ones that thought they knew better than others...can you imagine "me" being stubborn and strong-willed? Boggles the mind, doesn't it
