Glenn!

How very honored we are to have you drop in!
I've always valued your input and the fact that you are so well-versed in all of this.

Thank you!

Rsd here!!!!!!!

took many years for the dx, had some "treatment" that I now question..... All started on a very bad day long, long ago on a ranch some 50 miles down the road a dark day that will effect me the remainder of my life, invoved a young breeding heifer (cow to you city folks) a couple of gates, an epidural for the heifer (way too complicated to go into) and a blind move on my part to keep her from literally hanging herself.... ended with me under said bovine my left knee bent at a "never angle" then the heifer up, me getting my tuff self up loading the darn beast in my trailer insisting all the time I was "fine" then driving old MANUAL TRANNIED ranch pickup home bawling the whole way esp when I had to clutch said pickup. jeeze

Oh MY!

Jeeeze, Pooh. That really sucketh. Were you all ALONE while on this venture?! This must have been beyond pain.
BLAST THESE @$%&*# LIVESTOCK! :Soapbox:

When my horse kicked my hand, it went completely numb and I walked around the pasture all DAY in denial that it was broke. Ended up in ER by sunset.
A moment in time that forever changed us. :(

Bummer to hear that the Cipro may very well be the cause of my torn achilles tendons and peripheral neuropathy. My podiatrist said that he would like to go in and "elongate" both of my achilles tendons via surgery.

I've decided that I'm not in enough pain yet to go down that road, and would definitely want a 2nd and 3rd opinion! He said I would be in a moon boot for 12 weeks, for each leg...total of about 24 weeks (6 mos!!), which I really do think would cause me more problems overall living like that for 6 mos. than the pain I currently deal with. As Scarlett would say, "I'll worry about that tomorrow!".

Lidoderm and/or Salonpas can help with that Achilles tendon pain. Have you tried local interventions like them for it? Salonpas is more for anti-inflammatory effects, Lidoderm for pain.

Dr. Cohen had some suggestions for supplements for fluroquinolone side effects...

You can raise glutathione in the body with NAC (n-acetyl cysteine). Glutathione is typically given IV because it cannot survive the stomach.

other treatments including magnesium:

No guarantees however, yet for this troublesome and painful condition.Sorry.

Yeah, just when I think I've gotten a handle on some physical problem, something else rears it's ugly head :mad: I told my husband that I'm not going to deal with this until I have to. I think you can understand when I say "I NEED A BREAK FOR A WHILE!" Can deal with things in small increments, but enough, already! Heaven is looking better everyday:D:D

Mark56 01-28-2012 11:13 AM

Understood Fiona

Gotta agree Heaven has always held excitement for me, in hopes I can gather in the sight of all of creation and see all galaxies, stars, the fantastic gas clouds, the fullness of creation. The Wow factor has to be off of the charts....... but, you as a pro gotta know dwelling on Heaven stuff to excess will be counterproductive to your handle on life as it is down in the here and now...... so, gate keeper or not, I am watchin out for you, and prayin alongside.

Caring in a huge way,
Blessings,
Mark56:hug:
