Default Large dog

Uh, Oh. I have two large dogs. Bouviers. The idea of them getting free frightens me badly. Sorry Mark but not for legal reasons but because they could get themselves hurt. The old one just has no clue about what is dangerous and what is not. They are therapy dogs so I don't have to worry about them biting anyone but the young one can kill a cat in seconds.

I get really furious when people don't control their animals. Animals are a great joy. Irresponsible owners are a serious threat to everyone including the animals.

I have been paying close attention to the comments about the leads moving. I haven't had that problem despite great unintended efforts. I still find myself picking up and carrying things over 20 pounds.

The surgeon told me he was using a screw to attach the paddle as well as sutures. Did anybody else get screwed? Let me restate. Was something other than sutures used go attach your leads? (I had to leave in the mistake)

Heart Hmmmmm Rae started it

Paul, I remember your dogs have spent much in assistive care of those who need to pet a kind visiting animal..... just forget about me being a lawyer sometimes, it is one of those monikers best brought out to help the harmed. As for me, I love petting four leggers, ours turns and licks my wrist as I pet him. A little guy he is, and a cocka-poo, or a poodaniel....... I don;t know, he is just lovable.

Now as to the s c r e w i n g, I wonder how that word made it by the censor on your post.... anyway, years ago, when I was robust and "could do anything" I was building a red wood deck on the back of the house. My wife had taken our kidlets to her Mom's for a visit so I could at least get the joists on and the decking set. She called to ask how I was doing. I sat on the decking about half finished, exhausted, needing to stop for the day, and said "well, luv, I have ab out half of the decking on, tired as the dickens, and I have been s c r e w i n g all day," to which she erupted in uproarious laughter. She caught the pun, I was too tired, at first, then I was embarrassed. HAH!! You see, my construction projects are assembled with screws and they never let loose that way.

So much for a tail about the old Mark56.

Yup

I am so sorry to hear about both your lead movement and the dog!

I had a lead move last year, but it was a result of scar tissue forming around it after 3 years of being rough on it. I ended up having to go with the flat lead this January as they can't replace leads. I do loooove the flat lead, now that it has healed.. surgery was a tough one but the result was amazing.

I hope you have already gotten relief by the time this reaches you, if not give the flat lead some thought, it really paid off.

Best,
Eliza

Default that's interesting

that a lead can move after it has been scarred in for several years. I'd think that it'd be almost glued in place after that long. What did you mean when you said you were rough on it? Were you water-skiing, doing karate, gymnastics???

Default Lead movement

As for me I tripped on a curb and struck my shoulder hard enough to dislocate it. I did not realize @ 1st I had yanked my leads loose until later Then it took a little while to get to the bottom of why my pain was suddenly out of control. That was in 2006.
