Hi Larry-
God led the people though they we only two in number. By the time we made Raton Sunday nite, the fury of the blizzard wa far too frightening. We had intended on pushinf to Dalhart, but would have been thus trapped. We stayed the remaineder of Sunday nite in a cozy Raton motel, took breakfast early the next morn. Learned all roads were closed except maybe Albuquerque, so we eaded southwest. Ice everywhere. Traffic lite. Just before we learned us285 to Roswell had just reopened. Leapt a the chance to carve many hours from the journey, knowing all of TX panhandle down to Lubbock was closed. Roswell was dry, and 380 to 84 to I20 brought us via dryroads on in to Ft Worth in only 23 hours road time. Back to the books now for tomorrow. |

Today, a hard day. Pain! Right arm, hurtin awful today, so that by lunchtime with my wife I emerged from the testing room in the convention center crying. She had some vocodin for me. Popped one and a half and was able to finish the test day.
Now back in room, dinnered up and about to blast through the topics for tomorrow, essays, twelve questions, all day long. Will go in medicated so I can write. And YES, it is so nice to be cozied up to the Lord, who, as though draped in a worn flannel shirt is so comforting to have enable help, life, love, endurance... the stuff of victory. Love to all, Prayers too, one more day, then relax |

Exam books closed. Answers written to all questions. Not happy with the lot, but thrilled to have performed. Pain was marshalled with meds today. Right arm. That forearm with its nerve. What NERVE!
Relaxed this evening over dinner. The four of us. Tired. Beat... not defeated. Tried to watch a movie in the hotel room... fell asleep. Awakened to get ready for bed. Think I will drift into neverland after a bit. Appreciative for many prayers, for the LORD being alongside, keeping me calm throughout the testing. Good, bad, or indifferent, I tested without any nervousness at all. Not a flutter. Now, being allowed to have my SCS remote with me constantly, I will renew regular rhythms to my Boston Sci Precision Plus. So strange, the paranoia [and I learned it is VERY MUCH JUSTIFIED] about cheating prevented my holding of my remote, since "it could somehow have been a communication device for cheating." Gosh. I feel blessed |

Glad to hear you got through the exam. Rather strange not being able to take a medical device in with you. Glad you didn't need to be on oxygen! They probably would have suspected you of having a cheat sheet strapped to it somewhere! Rather ridiculous in my opinion!!! I can understand the concern over cheating but all they would need do is allow you to keep the remote by them throughout the test and they could watch you change stimulation as/when needed. And these guys are supposed to be smart??? I gotta stop...getting myself worked up here about creating needless pain for you, Mark.
Rest up and hopefully you'll get good news soon that you passed! Praise God His presence was with you and you were not nervous! |

It's almost home we go. Made it to Hays KS late last nite. We dropped into a nice hotel room with king bed and sawwed a lot of logs Nah, Just got some needed rest. Will be back to our beloved Colorado today.
This trek has been a long one. lookin forward to being home. At least the only snow we are seeing is piled alongside roads or in shady spots alongside road. Wichita was deep in it still. Plowed a couple feet dep in parking lots. Their second worst storm of the past century. Will be good to be home, wash salt and red mud off of the Suburban. Do something a little more routine. Catc up on my work email [argh ] Thank you for your many orayers! Last edited by Mark56; 03-03-2013 at 09:13 AM. Reason: typo |

Hi Mark Catching up on everyone. Quite a trip to Texas you had! Hard to believe you couldn't keep your remote. But with God's grace and lots of prayers you were able to persevere. It's always so good to be home in your own bed. Hopefully by now you are rested and catching up with work. I think back over the last 18 months on your journey with Boston Scientific. Thank you for your story and constant support for all of us. Sandy Kay |
