Heart Support is Greatly Rewarding

Today I came to realize as I intoned thoughts of this path
Support
Yes, I have felt called to share and share here, yet
it seems rewards of the heart have overflowed my soul
for the response and the giving of so much jsut as you have written Sandy.
Oh how my soul as a sponge becomes imbued with the knowing
you and others have found benefit, comfort, some learning in
words found here and elsewhere on these threads.

Makes it all the more worthwhile it does,
Yup

Default Checking in

Hadn't heard any discussions, updates, etc., etc. Hope all is well with everyone and that your buzzers are buzzzzing your pains away. My St.Judes is helping with the pain below the waist but isn't giving any relief to the arch of my left foot nor my waistline. It's level 8 pain all accross waist and 8+ in the arch of my left foot when I walk. I just saw my PM doc and he said maybe neurosurgeon could reposition the paddle and achieve the relief I needed in the waistline. I had a followup visit with Neurosurgeon the next day and he said he had tried repositioning paddles on other patients several times before and it has never worked. Sooo, what are my options, I asked him in a nervously quivering voice? Medicinal pump implant and beings how morphine had been working for me in the past they would start me out with morphine and a muscle relaxer for my very very tight muscles in left leg. I've got to go in and get some X-rays or something next week (can't do MRI's now) cause Neurosurgeon wants to check and see if something may have been missed by Orthapedic(?) surgeon.
Anyway, The Good Lord has led me along since 1980 never once giving me more than I was able to handle. Believe me, I had gone astray and I tried it my way without Him, He came back, lifted my crippled body out of the gutter, nursed me back to as healthy a lamb as He could. Now once again, I turn it over to You Lord, Physician of All Physicians.
If you've read this far, I thank you so much for listening and I pray for your good health as well.

Heart Howdy Howdy

Thank y'all for bringing our need to post to the forefront.... sorry about being dilatory. I have been in New York recently on business and then catching up.

Pain in my right arm has been pretty bad lately [awakening me multiple times per night] so rest has been a factor, and of an evening, I just drift off to sleep sitting up because fatigue from pain has been on the high side. Fusion is not always a perfect science or solution, even so, I am glad I had it because although my pain is high, I am still able to type and hold a pencil/pen or MOST importantly, a fork....

Time to let you know I am utterly grateful for the help in supporting me through prayer, and Larry? I have hope your doc can help.

Prayin for all, through all, above all,
Yup

Larry,

I found the last paragraph in your post beautifully touching.

Thank you for reminding all of us Who is in command.... He does let us try it our way first.

Wishing all a very Happy Easter.

Heart Pooh HUGS are ALWAYS special and appreciated

Thank you POOH! Your hugs hit the spot!

Still been working on the right arm. We changed up the physical therapy regimen so as to drop in [or is it stretch out] the neck, you know, that cervical thing atop which sits the cranium.

TRACTION...... it is not just something you hope your well equipped tire shod wheels will propel your car safely, it can be a means to exert medically appropriate stretching to a neck which still exhibits nerve problems. You know the sort.... those achy arm, can't sleep because it hurts too badly, gonna cut this thing off of my shoulder kind of aches.....
So, anyway, I have not wanted and do not want any more surgery. I have had my lifetime fill. Thus, we have been seeking new or maybe not so new ways to approach the errant nerves descending form my cervical area.

TRACTION..... added to the exercise of therapy and its torture called massage, traction has seemed the add in which is helping the lot. Feeling a bit better I am, and I have not had to use the gummy Tens unit style electrodes of my Interferential Stim on my neck now for about..... oh..... five days running. That is a good beginning. So, gonna keep it up.

My SCS of Boston Scientific manufacture, and one of the oldies with an unattractive NON-color coordinated remote by the by, is still percolating along nicely. I run it 24/7 and it handles that lower body pain well. I have no complaints in that department.

Gotta run, must get ready for work,
Love,
me

Angry SO!

A huge thank you to the mongers of health care reform in this country. People who fell prey to the seductive vote solicitations of politicians who promised a free ride.... or maybe a cheaper ride to the mewling masses. It worked. The presidentially supported congressional abomination of legislative hullabaloo was passed, inked, survived the potential of a reform government which could have said "hey, wait a minute, did the people REALLY want this?" I am told by my insurance agent, a vendor who serves many large group coverage businesses she received much training last week about the forthcoming imposition of socialized medicine a la the United States congress.

Bear in mind the congress, and all of the lackeys of D.C. who do their bidding are exempt from forced participation in the "new" plan.... basically a plan about which Saffy has complained much of late because the so called care givers in the U.K. consigned her to nowhere land. End of her road, so she wrote.

My agent reported thus:
Healthcare coverage will not become less costly, it is going to increase... because among other things a large NEW bureaucracy is born to administer the socialist agenda.

Medicare will pay less and less, and hear me when I tell you as one who emerged from disability adjudication being FORCED into the medicare system I feared, the premiums I PAY monthly for basic medicare and Supplemental Coverage are equal to the commercial insurance for which our family pays for my spouse.

Since medicare will pay less than it does now, physicans will be reconsidering whether they are willing to participate as a vendor or opt out. This is PRECISELY what happened in Canada where patients lament the poor coverage opportunities in state run care, and pay enormous fees to attain private care. Saffy has written of the same result in the U.K. They had experience and wondered at the lunacy of an american electorate which would stand for a congress which forced less than average care on everyone.

Oh, and since medicare will pay less, doctors who opt out will begin firing their patients in a gentle way, or maybe not. A child of ours who was long ago adjudicated disabled and became a medicare participant has a devil of a time finding a caregiver for my own general practitioner will not take more medicare people. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop there.... the proverbial shoe to drop..... the further, "oh, by the way, since you are a medicare patient, and they have recently reduced the physician compensation ratios again.... we will be unable to continue your care..... have fun, find help elsewhere, goodbye."

Then, and you may love this tidbit, my surgeon... the fella who implanted my SCS and last autumn fused my cervical spine sent me a lovely sayonara letter citing the declining medicare revenues available and the inability to support his practice with such patients. I have been fired. Thank you congress.

Another fun tidbit. The government, having figured there is a need to provide economically for their pork legislation, or was it vote buying legislation.... have decided to impose excise taxes which will be assessed on purchases made for a host of items, tires for your vehicles, certain purchases of new vehicles and on and on and on. I hope all of those who voted to preserve the political status quo are thrilled with what is to come. I am not.

So, I have been fired from my surgeon.... knowing full well the work comp savings account provided regarding my stim and other spine related issues is administered according to whose disbursement rules?????? Why, you might never have guessed, but that lofty institution the medicare gurus. I am stuck. Can't access it if my body needs it except under medicare rules and the doc whom I trusted cannot afford to continue to provide care to vagrants such as myself.... the pitiful hordes who were first on a government run healthcare plan in this country.

So, even if I can extract myself from medicare somehow and subscribe to a new federally overseen congressionally approved state insurance exchange financed in part by greater premiums I have been assured will be in store, partially financed by all of you who dare to purchase excise taxed items to fund federal healthcare, I will STILL be stuck with the conundrum of how to deal with the fact medicare administers the work comp savings account set aside. Darned if I do..... darned if I don't [I used darn as a means to avoid cencorship in our politically correct society even though my emotions right now are far more incendiary].

I advoacted and still advocate a serious rejection of both political parties who wield all of the power in this nation. They serve no people. They serve only voters who "want to vote for a winner." Too bad only other nations, even England, see the benefit of shaking up government from time to time with exercise of the voice and the vote to wrest control from the polically fat.

Remaining thrilled with my stim, and the medical care I have received from those who were willing to treat me despite my legal vocation.. dare I suggest a medical practice in Golden which saw fit to write a letter to my file warning other practitioners I am a lawyer? That one I will never forget. One day I will forgive, but not forget. That particular practice had never a thing to fear from me before the day the letter showed in my file. Too bad they know not of the danger of throwing a match into a wooden shed filled with tinder and paper.

Oh, yes, I rant and rant, but then, I am tired of the whole struggle of people in this country who strive hard just to get ahead only to have government stomp on the means to receive the care so many so desperately need. Right now, my spine problems are in a stasis which I can handle without opiates, and you know that. This is courtesy of the care I have received until now.

Regarding the future???? Who knows... maybe were I successful running for congress, I could tap into the guaranteed federal healthcare plan which suckles them, and savor the taste of retirement pension after a two year term..... maybe even use pelosi's decorator at government expense to redecorate my offices... delicious. Oh, I forgot that elected official "privilege" of shopping on military reservations where the post exchanges stock nice stuff at a cost intended to be within the reach of the modestly paid military folk who serve our nation....

Angry,
Me

Default I hear ya Mark

This is Warren Buffets’ idea!!

*Congressional Reform Act of 2013

1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.
Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

Angry That is the congress of the land I love

NOT the travesty which sits in D.C.

The Buffet plan can be bettered by one our son promotes- all serve as on a jury wheel. No voting, no special interests. Everyone sits, then goes home to work. End of payola in D.C.

This has to end.

Now the question is how many people will march on D.C. to force the destructive ones out of office. Word from our company insurance rep today is that all workers in our company will experience a 100% increase in premiums at the beginning of the Obama/Pelosi plan... so much for affordable health care..... and it is not like the people in our mainstream American middle class organization make money hand over fist. They get by. We try hard and work diligently. Congress has no clue.

How much farther until the people rise up and follow our forebears, how long?

Sign me,
Disgusted
