Smile How Grateful I Am

To have had the prayers of so many......

To have known no trepidation as I entered and performed in the testing facility.......

To know whatever the result I did my level best, even though there are answers on retrospection I would rather have embellished a bit more [can't believe I forgot this point....... or that one......]........

TO BE HOME AFTER A WEEK AWAY sequestered in a hotel room with a book, a prayer, and mind tired from the reading....... this is such a nice homecoming......

Yup,

Smile Thankful

Thankful for sure for the safe trip there and back again, for the focus in TX on the test and final prep, for prayers and thoughts.

I feel positive about my effort this time, as it came out of the pen in a half way decent fashion...... I think. Will know in October. October. Seems a long time to wait, but a lot were testing and someone has to read all of that effort.

Cool thing is, without the Boston Scientific Precision Plus Spinal Cord Stimulator I would never have been able to even try. It feels good to be able to have career back courtesy of this little wonder of technology.

A Blessing indeed!

Heart Checkin up....

How are you doing dear Mark?
You've been putting your brain to work bigtime!
I would most certainly have self-combusted .

Praying that pain levels are low and that you've had a chance to recoup from your trip and the exam.

Caring,
Rae

Smile Lordy

Sorry I have seemed to be remiss in appearing here at all. These many recent weeks, I have worked out of town quite a bit, and when here at home in office my hours have been longish....... well, too longish. Digest version of the story is I am here abouts, just have not had time to do more than fall to bed for sleep at night.

Stim is still working quite well, thank you. I no longer trumpet the manufacturer, I just know the item I use is working in this body. Doc had asked that I try to ramp down signal and shut the thing off. He was kind to have suggested, but way off of base.......good thing his day job is not baseball. I use it 24/7 modulating signal less frequently now as the body has become accustomed to it. If a spike threatens, the remote is nearby although I have been known to go out around town without that ball and chain.

The gosh dern right arm is flared something fierce. Hurts to high something or other. I know the fusion was a success in the cervical spine since I can hold a pen and type, but the pain to right arm is causing me to pop over the counter pain meds. I just do not want to get back into the prescribed flavor of opiate of the month club. Trying very hard to have that behind me.

Good to see you are all so very active. I will pop back in sometime soon and check a few other threads..... in the meantime, prepping for a case which has me riled up.

Blessings to all,

Mark,

Do you think a stim for the right arm might help lessen the pain?? Really sounds like the arm is quite troublesome and painful.

If I understand correctly; the stim is lessenning your spine pain. Why would the doctor suggest ramping down the signal and turn the stim off since it still seems to be working for you??

Really admire your drive and all you have accomplished in spite of dealing with constant pain.

Heart Well Hey There GER

What a BLESSING to see you on the board!

I pray you and yours are each day surrounded by love and blessings

Another stim for MOI?? Not if this person has anything to say about it.....I know, I may sound bonkers....but, I am REAL tired of surgeons, cutting, anesthesia, recovery, the whole schtick of another trauma. Yes, it hurts like madness...and I want to try to outlast the pain. This time, at least, as the pain remanifested following the cervical fusion, I have not lost feeling and control of my hands and digits, while the pain is right arm focused and not both arms. I been using Aleve and Tylenol and just toughing it out.

Work? I truly enjoy being back in the thick of it helping others. That is my thing. It is a blessing to me. Thank you for the good thoughts there.

I am grateful for you reaching out and wondering aloud whether there is something better to do for this right arm. Maybe it will be OK....

Dear DEAR Mark! It is SO GOOD to see you here posting again! You've been missed. Things get a bit 'too quiet' around here when you are gone

You are a very busy man, so it's totally understood
Thank you for keeping us in your heart, even during the times when you are unable to be here.

Default Running on Fumes Here

I, uh, well, had to meet with my surgeon. You know, the one of whom I wrote I had received a Sayonara letter since I am on Medicare due to my Work Comp injury years back. I was forced into this state of affairs.

We met.

I turned on the righteous anger spigot and let it flow freely. He was shocked, as he had not intended I receive such a letter. He explained he intends to continue my care, and that he was opting out of the Medicare program, so no new Medicare patients. Me? ........ well, he will not get paid to see me or treat me, but he intends to continue.

Now I feel like a heel. He apologized. Then he dove into this pain history I have developed over the last few months. Right arm? Bonkers. Left leg? More bonkers. Nerve issues all. SCS? Still works and not overstimulating..... but my left and right leg, in some alternating fashion just get up and JERK to high heaven on their own unbidden. Pain is outa sight. That right arm? WEAK, and it is the dominant arm, and the pain? Outa sight.

CT today, upper and lower. May be more FUSIONS, yes plural, in the offing. I am not thrilled, but I have been crying with the pain again.

I cannot type any more today.

This is enough for me.

Sorry,
Gotta go,
